The two scenes involving Charolete were honestly the most unnereving parts, the ghosts had something against her. Being alone in the woods and suddenly your friend is possessed speaking who knows what or in a locked dark room with something like the "Lineman" are horrifying

@@MrSaurusI believe it's because she was the most experienced with the occult. The hospital was even more insulted by her actions becauseshe knew the rules better than everyone else. Kind of like when your the oldest the kid in a group and you get punished the hardest because you should've known better. This is just my interpretation though.

Yeah most found footage horror movies do suck but when they're done right they can be great. Probably my favorite found footage horror movie is "Lake Mungo". I already mentioned this once recently but I'll say it again. You should check out the movie "The Head Hunter (2018)". Its a low budget horror thriller set in a fantasy version of the middle ages. It's that slow burn with very little dialogue that tells its story through the visuals. It's still one of my favorite movies from the last 10 years, not for everyone though. If you like the "folklore" movies then this is in that same vein of what would the world be like if magic and monsters actually existed. You really should check it out some day.

I know you said you don't like the lore cliche of these types of movies, but personally I really wish they had done more "lore" stuff with Gonjiam.I wish the characters had come across old files or such regarding the patients, which can then connect to and foreshadow some of the ghosts seen later. The only thing I can remember that grounds a supernatural phenomenon to a given person in the urban legend is the ping-pong ball. Even the doll, though owned by the person in the picture, doesn't really connect back because the person is never given an identity, nor is the doll used in an "identifiable" way

Since the other version got deleted I'ma post an idea I commented there: I would really like to see a found footage movie where it starts out with a bunch of dumb social media influencers checking out an abandoned or haunted place for clout and when they start noticing that they're being stalked by monsters or ghosts that's also when they find out that they're being hunted down by a unit of SCP MTF type guys intent on containing the entity and silencing all witnesses.

Grave Encounters will always have a special place in my horror favorites because I enjoyed those ghost hunting shows when I was a teenager, even if it’s scares are lazy CGI screamers. Gonjiam was the better horror experience, however, now that I’ve watched it thanks to this video.

This reminds me slightly of another good example of found footage done well is a film on Netflix called, "Incantation." If you haven't seen it I do genuinely recommend giving it a watch. There's more to it than expected and it has good twists.

The movie has a great atmosphere and the actors sell it i think it honestly had me spooked compared to other found footage movies. The two girls who left the building had the best moments. The one who gets possessed and starts speaking like that is creepy and the other one has the best moment in the movie being stuck in a dark room with what ever that white ghost was suppose to be.
