This is a trailer for my first of many KZfaq Series!
In this series, my nomadic lifestyle and need for cash lead me to Alaska, where there was the promise of work in the fish business.
The salmon business can be INCREDIBLY lucrative. some crewmembers pulling in $20,000 paychecks for less than 1 month's work, in some of the best years.
In need of a van to support my nomadic lifestyle, I set out to roll the dice on the fish market.
-would I get a job?
-how would I get a job?
-Could I make it big and leave with handfulls of cash?
-Or would I work all season with no fish and no money?

Do the PDF out there. The state pays $15,000 annually if you establish residency for one year there. You probably already know about it, but incase you don't l just gave you a heads up.

HECK YEAH THEY DO! I think the Alaska PDF is a great model for other states to follow. A state that has its own income can provide its residents with money for being a resident of the state. I think if other states used their material resources and infrastructures to provide services for the nation and for other nations, that could relieve citizen's tax burden, and, if as effective as Alaska's PDF, even provide cash incentive for residency. I did open a PO box and switch my drivers license over to AK when I didn't know how long i'd stay. To claim residency, you need to stay in AK for at least 12 months, then not be absent from the state for longer than 6 months at a time. Thanks for the heads up!
