@@epiccabbage6530 At least he's honest about it though. He's addressed it many times; has a business to run with employees so has to make the vids that get the views. He does still mix in general diet and health vids though they just don't get boosted as much. I actually love how unashamed he is to plug his cookbook and supplements. Because he's honest about it doing it, talks about the science with references to studies for the supplements, and his cookbook actually has some really good recipes in it.

What Mitch has been able to achieve is mind boggling to me really. There are some ridiculously strong people on this planet and to think you can surpass them with this man's height and build is just remarkable to me. I'm in between 6'4" to 6'5" and 115kg all natural, have been training 30 years and couldn't even think of coming close to what he has achieved. Fantastic in my opinion. @@ReggaeRomi 6'2 is nothing special today. That's average in some countries and barely above in most. 300 lbs is heavy but not huge. If you're 6'2 weighing 220 lbs is actually more common than you'd think and not. What I do agree on is that 315 lbs on an untrained individual at 6'2 would look fat, yes. 80 lbs extra for a strongman/builder is nothing to be in awe over. Lots of muscles. Smaller than most strongmen at his height. Eddie Hall is the same height and weighed over 100 lbs more. THAT is 'fucking huge' as you'd exaggarately put it in regards to Mitch. And Eddie is not even especially tall. Brian and Thor, ans guys like that, would fit better to the description 'fucking huge'. One must be very bone-like skinny and tiny and/or easily fooled by comparisons like in this video to name Mitch 'fucking huge'. 😂 In certain areas the average american even weighs more.

7:27 "that's my weakness" the world strongest man channel recently uploaded the 2022 group 2 heats (which is your group - which obviously you know you won (and as a rookie - very impressive with Shaw in the group as well)) but in the log lift in those heats you did well with 7 reps. (2nd place and tied with Shaw in that event) but the interesting thing in the video is Bobby Thompson seems to have crazy shoulder strength. The guy didn't use his legs at all for the log lift. He only got 1 more rep than you though in 2022 in the heats.

It's cuz he broke his foot/ankle at some point and has a metal plate in one ankle, which means he can't really extend onto his toes. Its the same reason he has trouble on stones,i f you watch, he cant lift up onto his toes to get the last couple inches of height needed for most platforms
@justanobody0
@justanobody0 11 ай бұрын
@@sagebauer1077 it sounds like Bobby Thompson would be ridiculously scary as a competitor, if he didn't have that plate in his foot. and those atlas stones (which can have giant diameters) combined with the height I've seen them have to be lifted seems like it can be very difficult. I saw watched the 2009 Atlas stones between Mariusz and Savickas, and first two podiums to put stones on were taller than Mariusz's height. He would use his tippy toes, and was just barely tall enough to control the ball to move it on the podium to the center of the podium. For someone like Tom Stoltman, I'm guessing that height would've been no problem. I also wonder if the diameter of an atlas stone can become so wide that only taller competitors with long arms can get their arms around them

@@jimlewis4853 This isn't some gotcha question. I'm trying to understand how you'd be kind of big at 230 but Mitchell isn't huge at 315, a full 85 pounds of world class athlete more. The video already established that he isn't big in comparison to other strong men but you where like, "Hey, he's not huge, even I'm 230." I was assuming it was a typo and that you meant that you're 320 as well; otherwise it obviously doesn't make sense to compare. (I led with 320 because that's what he's listed at online. I hadn't heard them mention 315 prior to my comment.)

That's because Mitchel and Greg are both athletes and they are showing in practice what is the difference between bodybuilding/ powerlifting/ strongman competitors and an athletic capacity transfered in a specific sport.

I've heard it said that Strongman is about work capacity. A marathoners endurance is going to go a long way (pun intended) in facilitating that. It all depends on the events, though. Interested to see the future of strongman.

I would never dare to compare myself with him, i am a way smaller build, i am 6foot 195pounds (at my heaviest) and i constantly outlift a majority of guys way bigger than me and I always has been underestimated so in a sense i do understand a tiny bit what he is feeling it is such a funny feeling when you lift more than the guy way taller and a 100pounds heavier next to you yet he looks like he could fold you and trow you miles away. 😅 Power isnt always size, its definitely required to a certain level but some people just have more performant muscle fibers or something. Show them brother, you are a Canadian we are made STRONG 💪. You are amazing and I am a fan.
