Layne, this is my favorite video you've ever done! So many good tips and also helps me to realize I'm making some of the very same choices (or style of thinking) when I shop. Awesome, awesome video! Anyone who is new to flexible dieting should watch this.

Been on a biolayne channel binge lately and trying out carbon diet coach and previously the workout builder. I didn't think I'd enjoy this video all that much but actually really did! Made me realize of a few things I can pick up next time at the store even if some of the things mentioned (fat free cheese, butter spray) aren't available in any store I've been (Canada) still greatly enjoyed the vid!

This is by far one of my favorite videos of yours. Though I am very familiar with flexible dieting (due to your podcast, Sohee's book, and many other sources from you) I like how you broke it down to explain why you chose what you chose. This video will be of great help to anyone that is unfamiliar with flexible dieting and will give novice users possibly a new perspective.

Hey Layne, I think it would be enormously helpful if you did a video on key points when critiquing nutritional research or even just a beginners guide to research (i.e. what meta-analysis, systematic review, RCT, case series and reports etc are). I don't think it is beyond the lay person's grasp and you have a way with words that will encourage more people to critically appraise research thrown at them. Keep up the great work mate!

Great video! I think it would be interesting to do a macro oriented video like the Animal "Big on a budget series". If you aren't familiar they go shopping for a week with an allotted budget of $50, $100, etc. It would be interesting to see it done from a macro set up approach. Love the increased frequency and variety of content as of late.

Lifestyle videos are the best. Lifting videos are everywhere. But there are 24 hours in a day with only one or two of those spent in the gym. Look on any forum or group and you'll see that most of the questions are based on shopping, eating, and fitting the lifestyle into our normal lives. The whole time I watched this I was thinking about the time spent walking my mom around the store in the same way.

Layne, I noticed the sharp-cheddar cheese you recommend lists mono and diglycerides in the ingredients, which I've read are a source of trans-fat. What are your thoughts on that, and trans-fat in general? Is the fear-mongering surrounding these ingredients similar to that of artificial sweeteners and GMOs? Thank you for all of the work you do to put out these videos, I really appreciate it!
