i really enjoyed this vlog. You are an inspiration. I used to can every year and it was such a feeling of accomplishment to my pantry at the end of canning season filled with jars of produce from my garden and fruits from the farmer stand. Your instructions on how to can are excellent. Wish I could have had a Kneady Homesteader to watch and learn from when I was younger. I no longer have the oomph to can. But I enjoy it vicariously through you. Love to your wonderful hubbie and family.

awwwww poor Matt! Tell him next time to freeze the habanero peppers first! Then it's so super easy to de-seed those bad boys . . . it's easy breezy baby! And please, please wear disposable gloves when handling these peppers! Also I wanted your other viewers who may be interested in making this wonderful jelly they can find the recipe on Pg #73 in the new Ball Canning Cookbook. Keep the videos coming . . . you are a canning angel on KZfaq here, & I do love it! This is a must make recipe for sure, anyone watching trust me when I say you must try this! Thank you Heather.

+Simply Sara Kitchen I want to make some of the jelly from juice too. So far, I've made Heather's Apple Pie Jam and Noreen's Pineapple Jam, but no jelly yet. When looking for more recipes a few months ago, I ran across these. Haven't tried them but they sounded interesting. Apparently you can make jelly from a bottle of pop, any flavor. The recipe is from 1935 for Root Beer Jelly. Be sure to read the comments for more ideas and tips: www.food.com/recipe/root-beer-jelly-11514?photo=219801 Peach jelly from juice, you can also you the white grape/peach juice: www.food.com/recipe/peach-jelly-38973 Apple jelly from concentrate: www.food.com/recipe/apple-jelly-from-frozen-concentrate-255348 Orange jelly from concentrate: www.food.com/recipe/frozen-orange-juice-jelly-270683

To clean rust off the rings of the jar, get some CLR and pour some into a flat bottomed container and allow the jars to sit until the rust is gone. Propably about 5 minutes.

Hi Heather. I am planning on making this weekend, it looks just SO good. Can you tell me exactly how and what you use this on? You said Linda put it over pork roast. How have you used this now? Do you just pour a jar over a roast and cook? I've looked for other videos on how it was used but couldn't find any. I'm excited to make this. It looks so good. Thank you!

Wonderful recipe and thanks for sharing your tutorial! One thing that I would like to add - it would be much safer to use another method to remove the rust stains on the jars if they are bothersome. Using anything abrasive on glass canning jars isn't safe because it can lead to the jars breaking when putting through the canning process. But your canning is spot on, and if we only had smell-cameras we'd be in heaven!

When you remove pepper seeds you should use plastic gloves. That's what my aunt does when she makes salsa. 13:54 extra lighting lamp? Wouldn't a 1/4" be up to the first ring groove on the outside of the jar?

I made salsa with habaneros once. I didn't have gloves. My fingers burned for hours after I was done. It wasn't nearly as bad as eating one, but it wasn't pleasant either. Did you save some seeds? I bet you could grow habaneros without attracting any animals :)

+Tammz K i googled and found a few different answers. i would look around the internet to find a good source you trust! i did find this: Certo pectin typically comes in a 6 fluid ounce pouch. 1 oz = 2 Tbsp = 4 tsp powdered. But that seems like a LOT of powdered pectin to me!
