Going by 343's track record, even if they did add a BR, they wouldn't be able to update it frequently enough to keep newcomers' attention. If it took them an entire season to create one arena map, imagine how long it will take to design one for 100 players. There might be an initial surge of players, but they'll just return to Apex, Fortnite, or Warzone once those games get new content while Infinite is stuck with the same map and weapons for the next year or so.

Halo never needed a battle royal, & still doesn’t, 343 just needs to get back to the essence of why we love halo so much, even in infinite’s current health I’m still struggling to turn away completely, I’m eager to see what’s in store for season 2 & kinda holding on to hopes that 343 will get it together, if not, maybe back to 5 ? If you hate the other BR games you were already at the top of, it's not a long term solution to focus major development on a mode geared towards streamers. Want BR that badly? Make it when Forge drops. There's a LOT of content missing I can't stand playing without, so I'll simply make it when I can. I love the area format of Halo, so I play Halo. I hate BR, so I don't play them. Like sorry you gave up on something big for you and now it's biting you in the ass. BR will eventually happen. It should not be a major focus right now. Only reason I don't get excited to watch HCS is that matches are like an hour apart, with cringe host chat as filler. And when the match finally starts, it's fucked by desync or crashes. The game is plenty interesting to watch and play. It's the cringe and bugs that hurt it.

The lack of updates is just straight up unacceptable. There has been quite a few games I didn't even try till years later just because I know the launch will be shit. They nailed the core gameplay but that's just the core you build off its essential but so is the rest of it. I don't think BR is going to be what saves this game.

Halo Infinite is not in this situation because of the lack of Battle Royale, it's simply for the lack of content in general. Sure, a Battle Royale would be good for the game just because is more content but any new mode would help as just or even more than Battle Royale, a mode like Forge and everything around it.

Halo is my last hope for playing a good arena shooter. There are tons of other good BR games right now, I think they should focus on what Halo has been doing right for so many years.

I wish it wasn't an "either/or". I wish that we had everything: an awesome new BR mode that utilized the campaign map, Forge to create new maps, and also had an arena with fresh content and balanced gameplay without connection/performance issues, as well. I bet Halo would be huge right now.

I think tech debt is the big issue, I also think they are rebuilding it right now. And I still think this is going to be an awesome game once that new version is released. I just hopes it's this year

Talking about a Battle Royale has made more content than the actual game itself. If it comes up this much, might as well add one. People got bored of this game so quick , they definitely need something

I uninstalled with no intent on playing it again. Done with Battlefield games, Call of Duty games and now Halo games. Tired and done with these devs and lies.

How I currently understand this: the *Forgers* are going to handle a *straight up Battle Royale.* While *Certain Affinity* has a *Warzone/Battle Royale hybrid* in mind.

Definitely have been noticing a lack of interest in Halo streams on my own channel as well as seeing the numbers on the official HCS streams

Before the game launched I would have said no to a BR mode as it would take way too much attention from the core game elements and I still stand by that. I do not want 343 to divert attention to a BR. That being said however, I would love to have another studio come in to focus on a BR mode as Halo BR mode if done right would be the best BR mode to date. I would love to see one though as long as the other central aspects of past halos are still given their due attention first, then the BR mode happens

Halo isn’t battle royal, get over it

My BR Teams of 4 120 man server Drop pods from orbit to HALO ring start Sidekick start on drop No radar, but will have a mini map. Warthogs and mongooses found through out the map. Very few tanks(5-8) placed at various POI's to encourage teams to fight for them. Turrets also placed for use accross the map. AR, BR, Commando, Bulldog, needler, charge pistol, sentinel beam, disrupter, pulse carbine, all grenades, are all common ground loot. Shock, stalker, mangler, Heatwave, are rare ground loot and more sparse. Sniper, Rockets, energy sword, Gravity Hammer, Skewer, are all epic ground loot and are the most sparse. All ammo types are common, rare, and epic corresponding to the weapon types in each category and rarity aswell. Sheilds have a common(starting) rare, epic, able to find throughout the map. But shields can be evolved by dealing damage(APEX), legendary Shields evolved only from damage dealt(APEX). Shields auto recharge after a short time, Health does NOT and requires health packs to restore. The map has some classic MP POIs and some new aswell. The life support system on the HALO ring is starting to fail, as it fails it shrinks the area players can survive in. If a player looses shields and health bar they will be knocked down and bleeding out. Requiring a teammate to patch/pick em up. Shields will automatically recharge after a period of time, i little slower this time and Health does not, requiring health packs. If a teammate dies, you may go to a radio station and radio a Pelican to "drop reinforcements" which is your fallen teammate(s). They get dropped with sidekick and common shields, but may go collect their own loot, enemies loot or just ground loot. If you have a teammate quit, your shield gets upgraded a level, shield recharges faster and you have 1 self revive for 1 person on the team to use while they are knocked down bleeding out, if a player successfully uses a self revive they are back on their feet ready to fight.

The thing is I wanted to stream Halo, but no coop, no forge, no custom games makes it really hard to keep the stream fresh…it’s sad

I think Halo 5's Warzone was a cool idea and they should have built upon it in Infinite. It shouldn't have been the main focus, but having an improved version of that BR style would have been great.

I liked H5 Warzone. I used to like BTB in older Halos but not in H5 or Infinite in particular. The only playlist I currently enjoy is ranked even though it also carries great frustration. I did like the attrition game mode.

I can not disagree. Halo literally has the perfect background for a battle royale.

Can't imagine a Halo BR lasting more than a few weeks, however, I do feel for streamers, since Halo is such a fast paced arena game, it makes it harder to interact with viewers and frag at the same time.

I don’t feel a BR is the solution for Halo. There needs to be reasons to play beyond grinding a season pass and weekly ultimate. It isn’t enough motivation, especially when the customisation options just end up being a few different pieces here or there. You still end up following a similar formula everyone else does. Having specific challenges that unlock weapon/armor skins (not referring to the weekly ‘ultimate’ which is BS anyway… the same decal has featured 3x times now!), and specific equipment add-ons like weapon/armor mods through in-game challenges specific to the weapons you use would help to create incentive to grind a bit more. Trying to make Halo a ‘please all’ game will just diminish the population further. Just focus on doing what makes halo great, which was always about a fun fps arena shooter experience

i wouldn't mind a BRi if it's done right. H5 WZ was a building block if you thiink about it. They just have to have more ppl on the maps and smaller teams 1-8,(maybe even teams of 16 for some modes) with some AI and objectives (Halo objecrtives) thrown in. Build off of H5 WZ and Firefghts and add in attrition mode for revival. IS it neccesary for Halo to continue, no. But there are more ppl, younger ppl growing up and getting use to it and watching content creators play BR, so a change may be warranted, otherwise you go the way of the dinos. And as they saying Halo does have the necessary building blocks for a kick ass BR. I htink they are working on it just like they're workng on putting out a better forge than before. Remember that it took a while for forge to come out for H5. Ppl want to have patience for good things to come, but their brains are rottening from too mjuch exposure to media and smart phone use. Also, while the MP is free and llve service, other free live services, besides COD, don't have to worry about maintaining and updating a campaign as well. Not to mention they have lost leads, at 343. You think though that they would collaborate with ppl from the recent acquistions MS made. To be succesful they want to get more ppl working on it, either hiring ppl or collarborating. And figure out why ppl are quitting and posting negative comments about work conditions. THat will affect game development quality and live servicing speed.

If they would just full force forge then they can make a playlist with like 5 community made maps that get voted on and cycled weekly with the last week being the highest ranking maps of the month. this would give almost everyone in the community something to do and the amount of content about the game would skyrocket. they could even give incentives (like in game currency) to the creators of the maps that get put in the playlist.

Right now 343 needs to focus on the desync issues and other bugs cause this game is a mess

It needs pve modes like destiny, strikes/ spartan ops. Warzone firefight. Areas where players can patrol together and take on the banished.

If they add a BR, I will redownload it just to delete it off my computer again.

A BR managed by 343 after launch seems like a bugged out mess. A BR mode would bring more players to the community, but the current lack of a leveling system outside of the battle pass and the ranked being a flawed matchmaking system, will make the game only to continue to die. 343 events like tenrai and tactical ops lack narrative and make the reward pool seem stale. And the battle pass has a theme, but 343 didn't even attempt to dive into the lore of "heroes of reach". Whole game since launch has been constant missteps leading to a decreasing player base and it starts with management and leadership at 343.

I personally hope it’s not a BR but the size & scope of one meaning a map with 50-100 players. I’m more interested in like a Halo 4’s BTB Dominion meets Halo 5’s Warzone mesh them together make it bigger/better & away we go!

A BR definitely won't hurt. I'm still trying to figure out how it will work to compete with Apex, COD, etc. Shield pickups? Skills/Perks? Classes? idk how it will work but would be cool. It really would be the complete game. Even with the issues its still one of the best competitive 4v4.

Honestly if they just want the casuals to come back then make a free version of what H5 Warzone was and make more cosmetics to put in the store that’s not some stupid shit like a mag pouch or something no one notices.

A battle royale wouldn't be able to utilize the campaign map without a lot of changes. I feel like people say this without putting much thought into it. The campaign map is designed with a permanent grapple shot it mind. That is why the map is so ridiculously vertical everywhere and that is why vehicular travel is substantially less viable or fun. Vehicles are often restricted to incredibly narrow paths, and vehicular combat in general is a big miss in the campaign. If they do a battle royale right, it has to have good vehicular gameplay which the campaign map is not suited for. Traversing the map is intended for the unlimited grapple hook. But imagine all of the problems that a permanent grapple hook would cause to a battle royale. It would cause an immense number of problems with the combat flow, with enemy predictability, map control, the arena aspect of halo in general, vehicle combat, etc. TLDR the campaign map would not work for a battle royale.

Said it since the beginning they really needed a BR to stay up to date with the new gaming meta.

Halo doesn't need a battle royale mode. It would be nice to have, but it is so far down on the list of things that Halo SHOULD have (social lobbies, file share, forge, co op, firefight, more playlists, more maps, better progression and customization, etc.).

Right now BR only sounds like it would be fun to have in the game because literally getting ANYTHING in the game would be fun

I came back to halo after not playing for 5 years, I really like the multiplayer 🤷‍♂️ my only complaint is that team matchups are rough. Other than that, the game is amazing and fun to me.

if they were to actually update the game with any sort of consistency, and with those updates actually being full of content, halo wouldnt need a battle royale imo. but i feel like at this point with the lack of updates, if it continues to be like this for the rest of its supposed 10 year lifecycle then i think it honestly does need a battle royale. and this is coming from someone who isnt even a big fan of BRs.

I didnt switch to halo to have a BR mode. I switched to halo because its one of a few big time arena shooters left. If I wanted BR i would have stayed with PUBG.

I don't think Halo needs a BR but I hope it gets one I wouldn't really play it sense I'm not a BR fan, but I have a lot friends who are who I know would be drawn in if they did release one and the more the merrier. I just hope if it gets one it comes out after forge and co-op campaign and isn't required to play to beat any challenges.

At this point a petition might need to be started to get on 343’s ass. Is that a solution to fix the the storm inside 343? Probably not but it might be the best way to file a grievance collectively as halo fans since they don’t give two shits about our comments on social media. SnipeCLOWN needs to leave thinking to others, he isn't equipped for the job. A BR for halo is the most backwards idea someone can have. The entire mechanic of a BR is based on RNG which is directly in conflict with what makes halo great. When halo moves away from even starts, it sucks. Have we already forgotten Halo 4 multiplayer? How was the competitive/streaming community for that again?

Halo just doing halo things was *NEVER* going to get this Halo outta the mud. This is a small community - going free to play is only something you do if you expect *BIG* things.

Halo doesn't NEED a battle royale. It doesn't need any one singular game mode. It needs 343 to provide a modular game where the players can make it what they want, if that includes a BR, then cool. We don't want to play the same, repetitive game that 343 wants to shove down our throats. Halo 3 was basically an early precursor for a game like Roblox, they just took the idea of customizing the game to play how you want to the extreme. 343 also needs to get their hands out of ranked/competitive/HCS settings and let a 3rd party org have full control and the pro players themselves have input on that side of the house, and let 343 focus on adding fun content -- not just maps, weapons, and gamemodes, but things like bringing back all the old custom options along with entirely new toggles for customs that add to how the game can be played. But that's not all it needs.. it needs customs that work, it needs an easy and intuitive file share with customs browser, it needs a progression system, etc etc.. it basically needs the other 75-80% of the game. Either 343 needs a shakeup at the highest levels of the org, as high up as Bonnie herself, or they need to be fired as the company in charge of Halo and completely replaced.

Halo is a Arena shooter. Always has been. Adding a BR mode doesn't make any sense and I can't see it working. I think they're making some kind of team objective based MP modes. Similar to Ut2004s Assault game mode where you progress the map by cmpleteing objectives in a time limit and the team that does it the fastest wins (or successfully attacks/defends).

I would really like them to add in all missing content before adding new content. They also need to completely redo armor core system and matchmaking. Once they do that, im fine with battle royale, otherwise, Halo infinite is staying uninstalled.

Get back the majority of your fan base playing this game consistently, then as momentum comes back over time, that's when you unleash an amazing new thing like battle royale and then a spike of popularity will come back to the game. While I think halo should have a BR and has everything there for an amazing BR ,my only issue is the game desync and ping with 4v4 games is horrible at the moment you don't even get a stable ping in ranked and the lowest ping I can get is 23ms and I have 1GB full fiber broadband , yet I see players who get 10ms which is hardly a level playing field when you are getting dropped into a lobby with 88ms ping and the players you are playing against are on 10ms to 20ms and you are getting melted around corners you stick someone on your screen then realise it just went through them and they are still alive or are one punching you and you have full health yet die ,I went against a onyx player and this guy was a God no one could touch him he melted everyone instantly you could two burst him in the back he would spin round and while you are still shooting at him he kills you he had 47headshots 14beatdowns and 12nade kills and he wasn't taking cover it was like our bullets had no effect on him he was challenging everything like he knew he was untouchable luckily we won because the rest of his team didn't cap enough zones but no one in the lobby could touch this guy I would put 3 bursts into him he would kill me and my friend went for the trade and he put 2 to 3 bursts into him and still he would kill my friend aswell and straight into the next team mate and kill him I have never seen anything like it but our ping was 88ms he must have been sitting in the server room playing it wasn't skill he just wouldn't die unless you stuck him or bounced alot of nades at him How could a epic BR handle 100 to 150 players with the amount of desync

Besides, 343 needs to fix the bugs and release the stuff that was SUPPOSED to come out.

I have 550 hours in Halo Infinite as of right now. Since Warzone (COD) I have said Halo needs a BR mode and the question is why? The audience, who now plays more than our generation can (1980 - 2000) that being the generation from 2001 onwards, they're the people who choose what game type lives or dyes because they're the majority of players, it has shown they like BR's 1980 to 2000 gang might not, but the majority of the industry does APEX, Fortnite & Warzone are frequently in the top ten viewed, they bring in the audience. Halo is currently going through what StarCraft 2 is going through and if they don't do something like a BR mode soon, it will suffer the same as fate of Starcraft. Halo fans need to let it go and open the gates to new forms that Halo can take.

I hate BR with a passion, and I’m not saying that because I’m bad at them I just don’t like the beginning game of BR cuz you can get stuck with a pistol and enemy gets a Rocket launcher and you lose the fight because of that, and now have to load into another game, late game BR is actually quite fun. That being said I’ve been thinking since BR became popular that a Halo BR would be the only BR that I think I’d enjoy, simply because Halo BR is the only game that 9/10 time can a highly skilled player beat someone with a power weapon because the base time to kill is already high and that time is needed in instances of having an OP weapon vs a low tier weapon. I also think if they were to introduce any type of armor or extra shielding that would ruin a halo BR, ofc still have the power ups like speed boost, OS, and Camo but nothing like picking up a permanent OS that you heal up, and that’s another thing FUCK healing, have them refer health like any other halo game, they should not have drops like med kits and shields to pick up, slows flow of game too much rather than just auto regenerating health. The BR should focus more on power weapons, Power ups, and weapon drops. Maybe even add some weapon variants like halo 5 did to spice things up to the BR.

I don’t feel the BR is necessary. If they had released halo infinite actually polished and with more content (more maps, game modes, better ranking system, anti cheat) the game would be doing fine. The reason the viewer count is so low is one because less people are playing but the ones that are playing can’t keep a happy straight face for long while streaming the game. Basically Halos overall situation boils down to 343 having some sick vendetta with itself and it’s playerbase because it’s obvious they didn’t give an actual fuck about following through on what was promised to be the return of halo.

Honestly dude, it's not BR that Halo needs. It's the bare minimum, challenges, achievements, unlockables and rewards for playing the game. This will keep people playing, and give them something to play for. Honestly I think the anger is coming from the lack of dopamine hit people get from that tough win or killing frenzy everyone is used to because in the scheme of things.. without what I mentioned above, the grind is mute. Gamers love to get addicted to games, without something to play for there's no dopamine hit and thus no addiction to the game and thus explains the sorry state the game is in.. bringing in BR with no challenges or rewards ect will only keep the players busy for so long until they're bored again and continue to complain about the state of the game. The thing that kept people playing previous Halos was the ranking system (the more you play the higher you go) complete certain challenges to unlock armour then show them off in a lobby with your high rank thanks to your large efforts in grinding.. a player who's played 30 games would have no appreciation if he comes along a guy who's played 2000 games, as there's no visual tell for this. Again with COD, you might see a guy with a certain hard to unlock Gamer card or weapon skin.. and think "damn that guy's played a lot, I want that" Halo has NOTHING like this anymore.

IF they add that game mode I wont evet play it, I just rather have the SAME playlist the the master chief collection has.

343 seems to be determined to squeeze the fun out of infinite, but that also seems to be the case for most of these games. unfortunately drip feeding underwhelming content is totally acceptable these days. multiplayer fps just aren't fun currently. the games are largely catered to sweaty try hards and bots that have to team to survive. it's just the state of gaming right now. it would be nice to just play a casual game that prioritized fun. the reality is that most gamers are not competitive no matter how much they believe that they try, it requires more time than ever before and the skill is higher for those that can. just watch any "spectates" video. but alas this keeps everyone coming back for the chance to get that hit one more time. brilliant business model though low investment relatively high profit. they know how little it is that they need to do.

I don’t want a battle royale. They need updates. More maps, game modes, etc. they need to stabilize the game before they work on a battle royale. My fear is that if they implement a battle royale, then it’ll pull players away from other gamemodes like ranked, quick play, etc. the few people, (like myself) that want to play arena modes are going to be unable to find matches, because everyone is flocking to the BR. 343 needs to make the current game better instead of saying, “oh, the game is lacking content and anticheat and good customization and shop? Forget about that, we have a Battle Royale!” It seems cheap to me, because you know that they aren’t going to care about arena gamemodes once the Battle Royale takes off. That’s my take. It might be unpopular, but it is what it is.
