Beautiful! Absolutely appreciate all the work that goes into making each drum and cymbal I’ve ever purchased.

It boggles my mind that you can push metal that way while it's up against an anvil. Great video!

Cool huh? I love the process!

Bells really intrigue me. The shape and size of the bell play so much into the cymbals end result. Pretty cool!!!

Really enjoyed watching this - and it’s amazing the amount of choices you can make when making the bell that really affects the whole cymbal behaviour.

Enjoyed the video and the in-time backing drum track 😁

Thanks! That was a happy accident on the backing drums. I sat down to play for 15 min and that's what came out. I'll never be able to replicate that again... haha

absolutely fascinating ... thank you for sharing ! Wonder if the big names (Sabian or Zildjian) hand form their bells anymore (on the hand hammered models)
@ReverieDrumCo6 ай бұрын
They definitely don't. All major manufacturers press their bell and some have additional hammering by hand or machine

Hi, thanks for video :) Could you tell if can I start to forme the bell with the center hole already made? I got few blanks with center holes
@ReverieDrumCo5 ай бұрын
Yes! You can definitely form a bell with the hole present. Just be careful around the hole cause it can crack if you hammer on it. I would leave a space of at least 3/8"" (if not 1/2") of unhammered material around the hole to be safe. I've done it plenty of times before.

What's your opinion on the effect of adding hammering to a pressed bell, versus a completely un-hammered pressed bell? I expect hammering would make it even more dry/separated, and dark? I think what I like best is a bell that is hand-shaped but that sounds as much as possible like a pressed bell, with a sharper 'crease' (bell-to-bow transition).
@ReverieDrumCo6 ай бұрын
Yeah, I'm with you on that. I hammer all my pressed bells to give them a bit more character and "break up" the clean frequencies that they tend to have.
