Handstand Blocks Beginners Guide

Learn HOW TO Use HANDSTAND CUBES. Blocks or Cubes can be a great addition to your Handstand practice. They can strengthen your window of balance, assist in the Journey to One Arm Handstand, get you ready for Handstand Canes and add fun stacking or lateral walking drills to your training. In this video I show you how to hold the block and take you though my favourite beginner drills.

I'm starting to think you must be psychic, ordered blocks last week and they come in today! Cant wait to try some of these drills

I attempted to move to blocks a couple of years ago.. they were poor quality home made ones. Shortly after starting to attempt balancing on them I developed golfers elbow type symptoms (which of course took about 2 years to clear up properly =[ ). Not sure if it was the main cause (likely multiple contributors given its an overuse injury), but I think possibly I was gripping on too tightly? Good to see a video addressing how to start on them though.

yeah thats common with the bodyweight strength moves, especially when you're combining heavy pushing and pulling work. I had some pain when doing lots of ring strength. Mobility around the thoracic and hips can really help and stop you compensating

How long can you hold 1 arm handstand. I'm going for the world record.

My records are 50sec on my right and 25 on my left. I have not tried max holds for a while as iv'e been working on strength. Good idea for a video

@@PaulTwyman You are one of the world's best for 1 arm . I think I can beat you. But it's going to take concentration.... I'll show you my video... I'm coming off an injury shoulder. 1 year But now watch out. I'm back.
