What if the main pilotchute was halfway out because of the pulling and decides to open anyways at same time as reserve

@@andreinistor6162 Yeah, you don't know why you can't pull it, when you pull reserve the container for the main suddenly gets more room and there is a hard shock because of the reserve opening, that might be enough to undo whatever made the main not open in the first place.

How is cutting away with your PC still in its pocket going to result in your main flapping around? I agree that cutting away is not the best EP in this scenario, for a number of reasons… 1) if wastes time, which is important at terminal 2) if your reserve blows-up then you are out of options if you’ve cut away. If your main is still connected then you at leases have a chance of getting your main out and having something above your head. I know someone who is alive today because they didn’t cut away from a total.

@@25sunbeam If you cannot get your PC out of the pocket by hand there is every likelyhood that no amount of drag from your d bag or whatever shape your main ends up in if it comes out of the d bag will pull your PC out either so you will end up trailing a big mess behind you. If that mess is flapping around above your head you may open your reserve into it. If not you might end up trailing a partly inflated main. If avoiding a potentially fatal accident doesnt make sense then think of it as a time and cost issue. If cutting away your main does in fact somehow yank your PC out of the pocket then you may spend the next few hours or days combing the countryside looking for your kit. If you dont find it you will be buying some more. Golden rule. If there is nothing out dont cut away.

@@admiralbenbow5083 I still don’t understand how you’re expecting the main deployment bag to come out of the container if you don’t pull the main PC. You seem to be saying that deploying the reserve will break the main closing loop and you’ll end-up with the main D-bag out, causing a horseshoe. Where did that idea come from?

Are you really incapable of comprehending that your pilot chute is attached to your main and will probably remain stuck in the little pocket at the base of your rig when you cut away, or is that a step too far for you?? Your muddle headed stupidity no doubt extends to the rest of your participation in this sport if indeed you have ever jumped a all. As such you are a danger to yourself and by extension those around you. I do not want to be on your next load.
