I was wondering what the crankshaft runout was, I guess you didn’t check it?

I am to the point where I have to put the binder clip thing in to hold the lifters up but I can’t figure out where they go. I then ordered couple magnets off Amazon but I don’t trust they’ll hold, so I may have the same thing happen to me ! I cut my pushrods out and will do adjustable
@lynskyrd6 ай бұрын
WHY did you cut your pushrods? You 'might' have save about an hour maybe two hours but you gotta buy pushrods, and covers AND, you just introduced 4 more potential points of failure... because , you know- The Harley Twin-Cam doesn't have enough already. You also cheated yourself out of the chance to check and change the breather elements on the top end and inspect for any pieces of tensioner debris that might have passed through. Guys--- STOP cutting pushrods- it's STUPID. The shops do it because they do bike after bike and they get to sell pushrod / cover sets. You are not going to be in the bike that often- there is ZERO justification for going the bolt cutter route... ZERO.

The brass fittings are called “rocker lockers”. I purchased them from Amazon

Did you recalculate torque when using that wrench on the end? If not you over-torqued the bolts.

I appreciate the tip. I will keep an eye on them

@@analoggeneration385 I put everything back correctly but i noticed when I took apart the bike , I saw that the Crank Shaft edges where the oil pump connects were minorly worn, Is there a way to know if the oil pump is correctly aligned once i finish aligning the oil pump. Does the oil pump have to be perfectly aligned? I can't figure how to check. Please help me out. I haven't found a single sources online that has the same problem I have.

@@luisruiz5933 Hello, did you figure out your issue?
@luisruiz593329 күн бұрын
@@vh8765 All I had to do was leave my bike running for at least 3-5 minutes. The oil needed to circulate on the rockers, that's what was causing the ticking noise. I litterally checked online everywhere and NOT A SINGLE PERSON ever mentions this at all. I might have to make a video on it cause I couldn't believe it.

I dont understand, why you didnt change the cam bearings? The stock INA bearings are well known to fail on Evolution engines. The ones used in twincam engines are probably of the same quality.As the whole cam drive was open, an easy and cheap work for the "peace of mind". May I ask, where you have bought the tensioner removal tool?
@HoustonR6ryda9 ай бұрын
Ebay has that tensioner tool,I got one last month worked well. My inner front cam bearings went out in May on my 06RK 37500 (+/-) miles, I just caught it before it ruined my case. Tensioners and inner bearings are the weak point on these twin cams, putting mine back together slowly with Fueling 525 cam chest kit .
