Line the backpack with a plastic rubble sack, strong like a dry bag but also doubles as an emegency item of clothing in heavy rain. Punch 3 holes in said bag for head an arms and got yourself a mini poncho and get one that would fit over your pack when deployed. Hack or bodge but it works!

I'm paranoid about missing cooking kit and waterproofs, so I always have a couple of pocket macs and a hexi stove in the bag as backups to main gear. And yes, warm dinner after hiking all day in glorious cold and rain is one of life's greatest joys.

Fern companion for life, have loads more adventures

As a consequey of the pandemic that shall have no name! I finally started to put together my life long dream of developing a scent hound kennels. As I live in Ireland now (native of Cumbria) there was only one choice, Irelands only scent hound (Google it if you're intrested). So, as a consequence I've had to take a break from my lolling about on YT for the last couple of years), so now all the HARD work is done and were now at the mainy stage i have a bit more time back. So I'm now just coming back now to some of my favourite YT channels. Imagine my surprise to see who I (wrongly) assumed was my favourite outdoor 'cub' to see him in a continuous gigle fest with an absolutely adorable Fern😊. Well the 'cub' worlds loss is a 'Fern' worlds win. It was a joy to see ypu two so happy and in the middle of the back garden of my youth. I know take my hounds out for long😮 long walks because once my hounds get a scent their nose (nose on, ears off) will lead them for mile around the Galtee Mountains (kinda like a mini Lake District here on the midlands of Ireland). Great video, beautifully filmed as always and with, for me the new addition of the OS route summing up at the end. Gonna have to "go get my GayDar checked out!

Great banter, mr. A lot of walkers seem to be bereft of a "bit 'o crack". That was in the early 80's. Did most of the jaunts you two did, up there. Brings back fond memories of sat on "Striding edge" , looking down a 1000ft, at army helicopters on training flights. Enjoy ya days, kiddoes. Once they've gone, ya end up with memories, and watching Y/tube vids.
