They also completely lied to him about the blood pressure medication thing- for a polygrapher who has any integrity at all and is actually trying to do their job correctly, hypertension medication tends to disqualify you from taking a polygraph. That and the fact the the person has high enough blood pressure to have to be on medication in the first place. Both things- the medical condition hypertension and the medications for it- absolutely can affect polygraph results. Of course, if they're trying to get a specific answer no matter what (which is the case far too often) then they won't care and will say "oh, hell no, you're fine. It won't affect it at all. Let's do it." This on top of the fact that polygraph accuracy is said to be as high as 98% by some studies and as low as 60% accurate by others. You couldn't pay me to take one. There's a reason that when cops get accused of something they aren't jumping to take one and will never suggest it themselves, even if they're innocent, because they know there's a more than small chance that the results will indicate deception regardless of whether they're lying or not. Oh, and that the same results can be interpreted differently by 2 different examiners. We really need to just stop it with this bogus ass machine.

Casey was so forthright with his interview that I fully believe him. He was angry and frustrated that he was being accused of something he didn't do. That's what innocence looks like in an interrogation room. Any innocent person would be incredibly irritated by any false accusations. It's the guilty who never demand to know what is going on and are compliant to any accusation thrown at them.

Yes but he was sure on it wasn't he? Go Corey! No way could they lie and trick a person in the right. This time. Sometimes it's some poor soul who is terrified or not very smart. Used to happen all the time in the early days of detective work. Some were even executed or left to rot in jail because we all know most of the "authority" figures are never wrong. And even when they are, most will NOT admit it. Terrible way to "serve" IMHO. It's her boyfriend Casey who REALLY got the shit end of the stick. I feel anyway. He loved her and didn't want to lose her and some monster comes along and kills her. His OWN damn cousin! And lots of people believed HE did it. The fact that police are allowed to lie to suspects is just crazy. Yes a confident person with normal cognitive abilities is able to just say no, that's not right, but for someone who is afraid of authorities, has intrusive toughts or anxiety, has a developmental disability etc. that's a really horrible situation to be in, especially when combined with other pressuring techniques.

The Behavior Panel recently did a great break down on an interrogation where an innocent man confessed. I guess we all get suggested the same stuff, so you've probably seen it 😉 but if you haven't, they break down stuff to watch out for. It's amazing how many people will confess to crimes they didn't do. It's often because the cops will claim they saw them, have their DNA, or other serious lies. I would feel like a piece of garbage if I got a false confession or had to lie to get one.

I think that Reid is it? technique is better than the stupid lie detector. At least they're not spending crap loads of money on that. Maybe they should have the interrogators taking a polygraph as well. That would be amusing if THEY couldn't pass it either. Or if they passed...and THEY were lying. Billy said something that really struck a chord with me. When he said he was going to marry someone from a “3rd world country who would appreciate him.” I think Billy was chronically rejected by the exact woman who he claimed to target., “petite blondes”. I don’t think this was just a traditional case of sexually motivated murder, IE to commit an assault and homicide to conceal. I know they said she showed signs of possible sexual assault, but I am betting they took into account she had just spent the night with her boyfriend after a prolonged absence as well. I think it was a revenge killing. He had a good-paying job and was clearly a narcissist. I think he thought he was a big fish in a small pond of a town. He had money but the personality of a day-old bag of doughnuts; he ended up having to leave the country to find a woman “who would appreciate me, flip flops and rides a bicycle.” He likely met Rebecca, the reason why she let him in the house while visiting Cory. Any off-hand remark by Cory while visiting in the driveway the night prior such as “I have to work or ‘open’ tomorrow” is enough to let Billy know that Rebecca will be there alone on the property the following day. Even just not seeing his truck out front could have been enough for Billy to assume Cory wasn’t there while Rebecca’s car was. I don’t buy the “going hunting” story for a second. He snuck off and was back in time not to be noticed missing. I’m also not buying the additional murders. I think he’s fantasized about them but this was his first follow-through. I do believe he’s hired sex workers but never got the courage to actually kill any of them. I don’t think he just randomly got an urge to “kill”, it’s more like a femicide motivated by the fragility of the male ego, jealousy, and revenge on women. I’m glad they were able to finally nail him. I’m really happy for Rebecca’s family, especially her father that he was able to get answers and justice. I understand they’re really no such thing as closure when your child is murdered but I know knowing this POS will never hurt another woman again helps him sleep a little better at night.

I'm sure he did it, however, the lie detector is so unreliable. This tool needs to be updated for sure. The way that poliggrapher was explaining the questions before he gave the test was shady.

This is why you sit down and let them know. “I want a lawyer” “On advice of counsel I refuse to answer any questions.” “Shut the fuck up” “No comment” You get the point. Never answer any questions bc they’re not your friends. They’re not your buddy. They’ll pretend to say anything to confirm their bias already set in their mind. However, I’m glad they got the right guy. Just know if you’re ever in a situation where a cop is questioning you, talking only hurts you. They’ll take something minuscule and string you up.

Naw, cops dont want it becoming public knowledge that it’s perfectly ok for cops to lie to people. And they do lie all the time. So if you are being questioned by cops for any reason, immediately say “ I want to speak to a lawyer now” and dont say anything else no matter what the cops say. You can also plead the 5 th amendment , like in a traffic stop , and you need to say it like “ I am not resisting, but I am not replying because I plead the 5th amendment .

I really appreciate the work you do. It's crazy that these people just walk among us and look so normal. I'm a pretty awful judge of character most of the time, so I rely on people I know I can trust to help me. I've really only met a few people who I could tell were very bad news. Their eyes were so empty. His mugshot photo shows a man devoid of any soul

It’s really unfortunate that the police can just tell you a bold face lie! Some people who are innocent feel the pressure of those tactics and confess to something they never did! I’m glad Casey kept his cool. What’s astonishing about Billy is when asked if the total victims are six he sorta shrugs and says a half hearted yeah? I don’t know about you but how many people I killed would be a number I’d be sure of!! 😳😲
