The Kahler's were viewed as the perfect family on the surface. On the inside though, they were about to be torn apart by jealously and hatred.

That’s the problem in this country today , the “leave him immediately “ advice from outsiders. Of course this also means take away his children and turn them against their father blaming him for everything that went wrong, in this case the wife was having an affair, then left him for that woman ruined his relationship with his kids , got him fired, used his savings what did she really expect was going to happen?

It's impossible for me to wrap my head around a parent killing their own children. My deepest, most aggressive instinct is to protect my babies at all costs. And he might have spared his son from death but he killed his son that day. He killed any chance of that baby having any type of normal life. He killed 4 of the most important people in his life right in front of him. How does a 10 year old even begin to deal with this horror? He is the definition of a monster.

Once you bring a third person into the marriage, it is the beginning of the end. Just divorce and move on if you're unhappy, don't complicate things. What I find bonkers is the fact that he was so content taking the lives of his wife, daughters, and their great grandmother but is trying so hard to save his own life. I come from a country that doesn't have the death penalty, but if anyone is deserving of that death penalty, it's this man. The fact that he allowed his son to leave makes me suspect that he always hated girls and women, and just decided to commit a femicide

Dad taught me how to shoot, drive, etc.. We used to go fishing & to stock car races. I was involved in sports & our team won state champs in volleyball in 82'. I'll NEVER forget how he would come to our practices & games (when he could) & bring a cooler full of Gatorades, snacks. Etc... & Cheer us on!! Who says you have to be EITHER a mom or dad to do cooking, hunting, sewing, etc...? I used to be a real tomboy when I was younger & became a girly girl around 17. However, I'm so glad Dad taught me how to change a tire & protect myself as just a few examples.😊 BTW- love that your dad could sew better than your mom. I'm so happy for you!! Kudos to your PARENTS!🎉

Why were they to blame for the distorted images their father held about his marriage failing. I have no doubts they had witnessed his irrationality and knew they had to get away, before dad's behavior would turn aggressive. Then top that with alienating his children from him because she could. That sounds a lot like emotional abuse. He's an absolute monster there is no disputing that but the absolute denial of emotional abuse by female partners is rampant and disgustingly over looked. Monsters are for a large part created over years of emotional abuse by those who claim to love them, but end up treating them like trash that can be thrown out and forgotten. Nice work. BTW I felt the comment about NASCAR fans wasn't PC pandering in any way, rather a grounding opportunity to remind us just how horrible this S.O.B. was in every way.

It always astounds me how many fathers decide not to have a full relationship with their children just because they are born female. If I had a dollar for every time I heard a man talk about how he wishes he had a son to take fishing/camping/hunting/etc - while his daughters ask to come along but are denied - I could fund all future Monsters episodes.

You sound like an alien from out of space. boys and girls are simply interested in different things. See a psychiatrist or something. Seriously.

Urgh.... all the points listed in Court as the reasons for his 'depression' were actually things that HE was responsible for!! 😠 And as for 'losing control'.... unless selective loss of control is a thing (surely an oxymoron), then that argument is beyond ridiculous. He threw his toys out of his pram because he'd lost the control he'd previously stolen from others. He then deliberately acted to punish those people (his supposed 'loved ones') for regaining control for themselves, hence denying him his stolen power. Also he never loved his son - he saw him as a mere extension of himself; a 'do-over' of his own childhood. If he'd loved him at all, he'd never have murdered the boys' mother whilst she was stood right next to him. Weak, cowardly, pathetic & worthless manchild. ...Wherever the rest of the family are now, at least they're free of his poisonous, constricting, & soul-destroying presence.
