Michael David Lissy spent his entire life earning a living through insurance cons. When he wasn't able to use his third wife's banking connections to con more money, he figured her life insurance would be the next best thing.

This is one of the best episodes I’ve seen on this channel. I can’t believe he’s out of prison and even still above ground. My guess is that he’s so old and worn out to do the kind of damage he did in his younger days. I wouldn’t feel comfortable though if he were living close to me. Hopefully he’s not out there swindling elderly women.

Something I've noticed with crimes like this is that the perpetrator accuses the victim of *exactly* what THEY are getting up to.
@candice_ecidnac
@candice_ecidnac 9 ай бұрын
Every accusation tends to be a confession (or at least projection) There's even a psychological phenomenon called "paranoid projection", for instance when a person in a relationship constantly accuses their partner of cheating despite the partner's innocence. It's usually because the accuser is cheating so they project blame onto their partner to take guilt off themselves. Sometimes the accusations even destroy the relationship and the accused/innocent partner leaves, which leaves the cheater feeling vindicated like "they wouldn't have left if they weren't guilty!" or it leaves them relieved because they didn't have the guts to end the relationship, which is why they cheated. When the innocent partner leaves then the relationship ends. I guess you need to lack a conscience to behave that way though; I can't imagine doing that.

If any of you are learning more about this murder, Investigation Discovery has a show named The Perfect Perfect Murder that covers this particular crime. That's where I first learned of Kathryn's murder. The episode is entitled Hotel Homicide. I'm not sure which season or episode. I'm always astounded as to how an individual can know that another individual wants another individual dead, yet never warns the victim or alerts the authority.

There is something about defense attorneys in these cases that make them as bad as the criminals themselves
@ThrewOutMyHalo
@ThrewOutMyHalo 9 ай бұрын
My step-dad was a criminal defense attorney. He was a very good man. He died of cancer in 2001. His name was Ron Koch, of New Mexico. I asked him once why he defends these people and how does he live with himself, knowing that some are actually guilty. He told me, that everyone has the right to be represented and that he believes that standing before God in the end is where their judgment will take place and he has faith that God will do what is right. So, maybe have a little compassion for those who become lawyers. They are people, too.

No disrespect but it sounds so odd that you are asking this guy to pray for you so that you "make it home" on some random road trip you are making. Do you know him personally? Or have actually spoken with him at some point? What "information" were you thanking him for? What did you mean "Because this Thursday, October 12, 2023." (Cause that's not a complete sentence so I was wondering what it was referring to)? Just curious...

If suggestions are okay with you: How about Ariel Castro? He kidnapped three young women in Cleveland, Ohio and held them captive for about ten years

There's already so many documentaries and videos on this case. I like how he does cases that are not well known and doing that case would set him back imo

Regarding the tampon - since it was mentioned early on that Michael wanted to try to lace cocaine with another toxic component to make it look like she had a bad batch of drugs, I suspect the white residue was cocaine, possibly with a toxin added. The anal cavity in particular is notorious for absorption of liquids and solutions (although the vaginal cavity may be to a lesser degree), so if he wanted to make a non-user appear to have OD’d on drugs, inserting a tampon with the drug solution soaked through while she was alive would result in the drug showing up in her blood. People do this with drugs and liquor sometimes as it results in fast, efficient absorption into the body. I’d be really surprised if the Medical Examiner or crime lab didn’t test the tampon for the presence of drugs.

I've heard people doing that with booze, it's easy to od that way. Never heard of that with drugs, although it makes sense

Having worked in hotels, I reckon the tampon was probably left by a previous "guest" and that crime scene investigators likely do a more thorough cleaning job than some housekeeping staff.
