Normally I eat 2 lbs of meat every morning. Rotating between duck, chicken, sausage, lamb, or fish. I try to keep my calories around 2500 for breakfast. Note I'm a power lifter so I eat around 3.5 calories every day. Sadly allergic to eggs.

Nice video, you look great..... for me at age 66 I simply made the decision that my foods have to be based on nutrition and not flavor. Eating what I thought tasted great almost killed me at age 60 with heart disease and metabolic syndrome which is now gone because eating healthy natural foods that are low in carbs and keep my A1C under 6.0 have improved my health and brought my weight back under control. Keep up the good work.

My problem is that my fasting blood sugar was 200 in the morning. That because I don’t move while sleeping. Once I wake up I take a walk 2-5 miles after breakfast and my blood sugar will come and I always practice yoga before walking.. I drink a high protein smoothie with berries that I make and. I I’ve done this for a month and yesterday took my fasting blood glucose and it was Down to 120 😊 I was shocked 😳 to have it be in the pre-diabetic range! All the hard work of a low glycemic diet and working out have made a huge difference in managing my diabetes! Thanks Kate for the great content you put out there that’s helped me to change my health! At 63 my current age I am trustingly that I can manage my diabetes without medication on a diabetic diet of low carbs and high protein. When I do want to cheat I make sure I eat/ drink this right before I do yoga and walk. That way I am immediately lowering my blood glucose level and then I don’t have a spike in my blood sugar. ❤❤❤

I found your channel only yesterday when I was looking for some videos that talks about Insulin Resistance, what to eat etc. I did have some ideas already since I was diagnosed in 2007/2008 when in school. With this I have Hyperinsulinism (HI). So thank you for making this video for people like me with a specific health issue. Back then my mum cared for what I eat. Later it kinda got forgoten but I ate balanced food. Due to some life changes I gained some weight again so I took my life in my hands and went to dietician and my GP so I'm already making some action. In October I have visit in Metabolism clinic so by that time I hope to make some progress :)

Such great advice Kait! My breakfast most days is air! Nothing! Lol. I eat once a day. Usually early afternoon to early evening. I am 63. Lean and muscled up. I was told that I had advanced CVD 2 years ago at 245 lbs and out of shape. Keto with intermittent fasting has me at 167 lbs and in very good shape. I’m just one person but it definitely saved my life. Exercise is definitely a part of all this. I run between 5-7 miles most days and hit the gym for an hour afterwards. Life changing is an understatement for sure. Watching your videos has been very good for me along the journey. Thank you from the bottom of my now heathy heart!❤️

Great info! I am prone to high cholesterol and was told to only eat 2 whole eggs max in a week. Since watching your videos, I didn't know this isn't a thing anymore (I was told in 2009 after doing Paleo and my cholesterol shot up). I ended up doing my own research as well and wow, glad it was debunked. Makes it easier to eat non-oat breakfasts or just egg whites. So thank you!

From my experience I can say that when I have oats with berries, protein powder and I add some date also, I really feel fine and full. But when I have two eggs, avocado and two bacons then I always feel I need something more because I am not quite satisfied. Although I love eggs and add them some other foods like lunch or dinner but alone they are not very satisfying.

Great video, Kait! I especially liked your explanation as to why breakfast needs to be low-carb. Even better, you made it a point to mention that there is no direct relationship between dietary cholesterol and serum cholesterol, so eggs are ok to eat. Even better, eggs have all of the essential amino acids. Up until a few years ago, you could make a three-egg omelet for next to nothing. Keep up the good work!

Did some bloodwork and his blood sugar was very high. Rice is our main source of food. Can you please help?

My favorite breakfast choice is scrambled eggs with cottage cheese. I add a little water to the egg mixture as it makes the eggs fluffy. Or a second option is a veggie omelet without cheese. I sauteed onions, spinach, mushrooms, and red bell peppers. I also like eggs over easy. My fasting blood sugar will not go down in the morning unless I eat something for breakfast. Once I eat my number does go down. It also depends on what I eat the night before. Fasting for me only works if I stop eating at lunchtime and skip dinner altogether.

Breakfast? It sometimes depends on what I’ve eaten the night before. During the school year I’m awake very early. Even if I don’t have to get up early, hot green or any herbal tea 🍵 it is. My first meal might be around 11:00 🕚 or a tad later. When I’m home, it’s pushed back at least to noon. Or should I say my eating “window” starts later in the day. It can vary slightly. Protein and veggies are my go to. I hate sugar cravings. Keeping them in check is a must.

I started 16:8 intermittent fasting on June 1st. It has come pretty easy for me to do, and I actually enjoy it. I'm starting to lose hope, though, because I haven't lost any weight. I used to eat breakfast in the morning, lunch and dinner; controlling my portions and being mindful of what I was eating. I lost 30 lbs that way. My family doctor said the IF isn't for everyone. Sometimes, people feel fatigue or low energy. I have been experiencing that this whole time, along with a hard time concentrating. Would it be better to go back to my old ways of a later breakfast instead of an 8 hour eating window? I do miss my eggs in the morning. 😊

I add about a tablespoon of my minced fresh garlic/ginger/turmeric mix Last, but not least, top with a good quality hot sauce. No hot sauce? Heresy! Take it easy.

I am very confused, hoping someone can give me a tip here. I follow a low carbon diet less than 50gr a day, I fast 16:8, walk for an hour daily. Recently retested and my cholesterol levels and TG increased even more. Insulin dropped a little, but it was never high in the first place, blood sugar remained the same 4.58. Am I doing something wrong here?

Nope, I don’t eat breakfast either. I get everything I need in my one meal, with also taking my liquid vitamins. I walk afterwards, too. I’m Used to it now. But thanks. AND, might I add, people please get your pancreas, liver and kidney levels checked periodically. I’m telling you, you better. Every body is different and what is good for one may not be good for all. I did, and found out some things I had to cut out. Just saying. Better safe than sorry.

Should we be concerned at all of cholesterol like the old tales we used to hear??

Watch my videos on cholesterol. Short answer: no. Even the dietary guidelines removed “cholesterol” as a nutrient of concern in 2015 because it has no significant effect on blood markers
