i think my favorite thing about that last episode was luffy’s eyes. we know luffy is freedom incarnate, being free is at the center of his entire character. the rage he feels being chained up and having his freedom stolen was so well translated through his eyes in that scene. that moment may have been the single most humiliating and degrading thing he had ever experienced, because being chained up like that goes against his very nature. i fucking love it.

Well tbf for Law, in the manga this happens in just one panel. Luffy not only got one hit, he got one panelled. This actually shows Kaido is actually extremely fast despite being big.

in the anime it looks like Luffy had a chance, since he landed more than 100 punches at kaido, but in the manga luffy get's KO really fast. it was 5 minutes in the anime, but it was only one page in the manga

Kaido himself talked about the great pirates who could fight him in response to luffy telling him he would beat him. He roasted luffy telling him he thought of himself as on the level of those legends, whuch means that all those characters are characters kaido thinks would have a shot at beating him. And shanks is in there, so it doesn't matter if he's featless because kaido himself stated shanks has a chance at beating him

@@prajjwalbaghel149 and that's exactly what I was expecting, so I'll break it down to you. A feat is an action you can quantify to measure the power of a character. Note the emphasis on something you can quantify. Let's go back to garp. What are his "feats" keeping up with roger, and supposedly fighting xebecs alongside him (although we don't know how that fight played out). So now, how do we quantify that? Well, we need to know how strong roger and xebecs are. Roger is supposed to be about as strong as whitebeard, and xebecs is supposed to be even stronger than that. So now, how strolg is prime whitebeard? And there you have the issue. All the "feats" these characters have is being relative to each other. But since none of them have clear quantifiable feats in their prime, then it's impossible to know just how strong they were. Maybe they were about as strong as kaido now. Maybe they could've individually soloed the 4 current yonkos at the same time. Because we don't have clear quantifiable feats, these characters are as good as featless

i think the change is justified. haven't read the manga, but obviously the way the anime did it is more exciting, and shows how insane Kaido is better; he was drunk off his mind, tanked all of Luffy's strongest moves, and THEN one-tapped him. displays how formidable Kaido is early on.

I know it looks like Law didn't do much, just remember that haki interferes with devil fruit powers. Kaido's haki is so ridiculous it's basically impossible for Law to directly affect him, but don't worry, Law's been cooking up some new techniques for strong opponents just be patient.

Ngl i prefered the mangas version. The way luffy was in the air before the atack, foresaw what was coming with haki and couldn't do nothing to avoid it and next panel kaido was already behind him. Haime hake was supposed to be a high speed atack not just a normal ah club to the face

Same here. *SPOILER ALERT* They also screwed up a future reveal with that in-between filling of the attack. Raimei hakke canonically never actually touched Luffy, because Kaido uses ACoC in it (one of the reasons it was so powerful). I'm not sure what they made to repair that afterwards in the anime, assuming they tried to.

@@brunoaltoe100 ..I'll be honest I didn't enjoy fights in Wano very much because of constant clashes. The Clash between Doffy and Luffy was so hype because it happened like once. Spoilers... I was so hyped when I read the manga chapter of Luffy and Kaido Clashing and sky splits open. But in the anime since the clashes kept happening every episode, the moment felt kind of underwhelming.
