Lmao the last time I went to my college bio class we had a guest speaker... he was HOT. I don’t remember his credentials but he was a certified genius and worked in a lot of classified government programs. After class ended like 10 girls went up to him. I stood behind the crowd for a bit to listen in and I’m pretty sure half of them had been googling info about him during his lecture just to pretend like they know who he is.

I know right? Man, those three thought they were sooo special for using all those fancy ingredients. I wanted to smack all those smug looks right off their faces, but she did that herself. I really wish she had been the one to win her own restaurant, but the others abandoned her and made her look bad, and she was too nice to tell anyone.

4:41 I really like how, when faced with two really good dishes, he awards a point to both teams, rather than forcing himself to just pick a "winner". Moments like that establish him as a fair judge. In a competition like that, it's about meeting a high standard, not being lucky enough to be facing someone who cooks a dish just slightly worse than you.

Well, it's to effectively get rid of unfair match ups. There's the possibility of, depending on who is up against who, one team could win despite the other team getting more consistent good marks.

@@aPumpkn if everyone is working with the same base ingredients, then I think it should be scored with individually given points (eg 1 to 5), but if, for example, everyone chooses a different protein, then the ones with matching proteins should face off, as they usually do.

Elsie was always one of my favorite contestants, then or since, because of her humility and never forgetting her roots (cooking for her family/kids). I can certainly understand why her fellows got irritated over time, with her asking questions about the kitchen/techniques they considered basic, and I never thought she’d be picked to win because of her lack of professional knowledge. However, her spunk and natural talent made her instantly likable, and her teamwork kept up her charm overall. She was great.

Chicken soup is a good choice for leftovers because every ingredient's flavors lend their essence into the broth. It doesn't have to be pretty, just delicious. Plus, you can use ordinarily inedible things like vegetable peels or bones to give flavor, along with the normal ingredients.

I love how gordon is still humble enough to critique the dish but when he has a guest chef he will say something and then look at them for their approval like he is so respectful. He knows his shit but he never pretends to know more then whoever he has as a guest judge. He's so awesome.

God I can’t stand Hell’s Kitchen at times. The reactions of jealousy and spite from contestants just really puts me off. Cooking is all about respect and mutual competition, in the end of the day. You can feel down and out, but you don’t resent the person for making a better dish than you.
