Watching Tim's little boy look up to his father brings back good memories with my dad. He'd work on everybody's neighborhood clunkers and charge them a two or three bucks. Brake shoes, fuel pumps, tune-ups,oil changes it didn't matter to him. If they were down on their luck and had to have a car to get to work, he'd made sure they could get there.

A lawsuit should be put on that guy, if you have recordings or documents where he says the truck was rebuilt then you can sue him at least to get your money back in full.

Tim set up a go fund me page for him so we can help out with the rebuild

I called about a truck Monday at 8 pm, guy said someone was coming from Florida in the morning to look at it. Next morning at 3 am it was listed in Florida for 10k more and new seller hadn't picked it up yet, and it had a list of "recent new parts" when guy local to me said he had no history on it. Might be same guy

As a mechanic this kind of dishonesty boils my blood. It costs $0 to not be an ass. It also makes it harder for people who are trying to help and make a living life harder. Glad he was able to get your help!

This happened to me as well when I bought my 1st truck, the seller played me like a world class violinist & I fell for it like a sucker! Theres nothing more frustrating than working your ass off just to barely keep the truck alive, it almost drove me bankrupt but I got lucky to find a good honest mechanic that helped me allot, finding a real mechanic is like wining the lottery if you ask me!

As a tech for 16 years now I'm going to say the industry is broken. Finding good honest mechanics is becoming harder and harder every day. Luckily I was taught to do good honest work from day one and I try my best to diagnose things right the first time and only sell people what they need. I feel for that man as I've seen customers of mine get taken for thousands at other shops and still have a broken truck or they think they bought a really nice ride until I give them an estimate that is more than the vehicle is worth.

One thing my father taught me when I was younger. If it isn’t your wheelhouse, you bring someone with ya, to inspect it Not to mention, it never hurts for big purchases like that, to have a person with you who isn’t invested. Sometimes we can put blinders up, and not see all the signs telling us to walkaway, when we really want something.

As a shop formen of a KENWORTH dealership I look out for all the owner operators they work there ass off to make ends meet. Your a class act for what you did for him your a great man God bless brother.

This is one of the few cases where you can actually sue for a used truck. Claiming and showing paperwork for a rebuilt motor is fraud. You can sue for the cost of the truck, lost wages and probably a few other things.

Tim, you're a Saint. Huge props for stepping up and helping the driver out on your own dime. 1 of the main reasons I watch this channel is because of how much of a stand up guy you are. Always going the extra mile to help someone out. This country needs more Tim's!

I have never seen a radiator that plugged up in my life. How could anyone who calls themselves a mechanic miss that. Good job helping this guy out👍.
