Glad to watch a lengthy and clean video of one of these Richards trucks from Adelaide, good stuff getting down there to catch what you did. Spewing they did away with the old lifters, I wonder how long ago they actually retrofitted the grab arms to the fleet coz I do recall seeing this generation of truck from over there with the finger plates. This bloke ain't fucking around either, not shy to full throttle the truck and whip through the run, old school effort just getting the bins emptied and go home... maybe the old Cummins engine sound pumps him up like it does with us haha I've got a feeling he'd be as quick with a comb lift as he is with the grabbers too. Dunno how I feel about the bigger bumper on these G cabs versus what they normally come with, doesn't look bad though, a bit unique to Solo I guess. Crazy to think in just under 3 years this truck and its siblings would be 20 years old, holy moly! I was waiting for that blast from the exhaust following idle after 7:20, didn't disappoint either, noticed there was a sort of old and cool roughness about the engine sound too. Thought the overcast skies and early morning darkness made for a sweet setting, suited this old beast intruding on the morning calm haha =P

Holy shit! I didn’t even notice you were in Adelaide last year. Anyways, I loved and enjoyed the whole entire video of the lovely sunrise along with this ex Onkaparinga beast working in the early morning, there is also a sister unit to this truck numbered 1609, which is also another ex Onkaparinga green waste truck. I think there is a video of it emptying the recycling bins in Onkaparinga one time, both of those trucks are actually still in service to this day but are used in West Torrens and Mount Barker as spares. Nowadays the Holdfast Bay fleet consists of all five of the ex Unley Solo trucks along with the new addition to the fleet that Samuel had filmed recently, along with other videos of this truck working in West Torrens. And a lot of this has also changed too with weekly FOGO now in place as of July 2022 along with other spares working around the Holdfast Bay Area as well like 2 of the ex Charles Sturt trucks.

Isn’t it an ex Baw Baw? Maybe it went somewhere else in SA before Holdfast Bay. Considering 1603 is an ex Baw Baw that was in Lismore and is now scrapped I’m pretty sure
