Learning a world language is always a good thing to do, both for the opportunity to use it when meeting someone from there or traveling there, as well as the benefits to your own brain that language learning gives.

We love using videos for vocabulary and we’ve use cartoons and I’ve sat with them and paused it for teaching!!! I’ve never thought of using bigger actions!!!

Yes, I find it very effective to sit with my children and watch and engage with the videos together.

My favourite moment is you speaking Spanish in the Chinese lesson😊 Super helpful to see how simple it is, and good to see how much repetition is needed to get new vocab words to stick.

hahaha...you caught that! Glad this is helpful and YES--we can't expect new words to stick right away from just being taught, especially when they are beginners to a language. Once you've progressed quite a bit, vocabulary acquisition gradually comes easier. But beginner language learners will need lots of practice to get those words stuck in their brains.

This was a Chinese lesson AND Spanish lesson! That made me chuckle when you told them "very good" in Spanish when they got the Chinese word correct. :)

I've worked hard to develop the habit of speaking to them in Spanish whenever possible...a habit that is apparently hard to break. lol!

This can be such a hard thing to really get started going with homeschool. And it can take a long time without seeing results from my experience. Its really nice to have a good plan/curriculum to use and that makes it much more likely to actually get done.

Yes, it can be tough to be consistent, and you have to be willing to keep going without getting frustrated when you don't see instant results.
