10:06 I’m the creator of Heinoustuck and I’m also a fan of this channel. What a weird coincidence this is! 😮 Of course I’m not really into Homestuck nowadays (I know my KZfaq avatar contradicts that but tbh I haven’t changed it in years) since the fandom died out during all the pauses the comic went on, I’m pretty sure I cancelled Heinoustuck around that time too. I understand why you find it silly - if I looked at it nowadays I’d think it was cringey edgelord stuff like that Underfell AU, but the only reason the AU exists is because I made some Halloween sprite edits of the characters and apparently people liked ‘em so much that they wanted me to make an actual MSPA-style comic with them. I’m no storywriter but I thought a project that I could work on for month and months could be a good thing to focus on at the time as I was going through some life bullshit and I find focusing on long projects like that helps keep negativity away ‘cuz I can keep myself preoccupied with working on said project. I also had like 10k Tumblr followers and I think a big reason for that was Heinoustuck so that motivated me to make the comic as well. Of course, that only lasted a few months, turns out making a webcomic is a lot harder than it looks, hah. I ain’t offended that you guys think it’s stupid, even though to this day I’m still kinda proud of it. I’m surprised you guys even remember it. 😛

Listening back, I do actually miss the “old internet” the New Grounds mentality and people not giving a shit because stuff that happens online is different than what is going on in their actual life. Everything seemed a lot less malicious and more lighthearted, even if it was edgy.

I wish to see the day where LMTYA gains a fanbase that is as AIDS as Homestuck's, just to see where it goes.

I find his dialogue HILARIOUS and wish I could’ve seen more. It pains me to see him portrayed as either “Nyeh. Wweh.” Or “super handsome and charming prince”. Come on. Great podcast, I listened to it while I drew!

When I heard that intro song, I smiled more than I've smiled all week. Perfectly encapsulates all the LMTYA feels.

I know I’m late to the party but; I very much agree that it’s stupid to role play and bring homestuck into your life as your personality, and constantly referencing it in real life, or badgering people about it all the time (though this really goes for any fandom) but I think things like crossover AU’s are just people being like “hm I like these two things, what would it be like if they collided?” And general stuff like that but again, I very much agree that you shouldn’t drag stuff through your life as your definitive badge of pride.

That cancer intro though

I was really into Hetalia when I was younger and the comic itself did have a bit of nudity and there were some pretty heavy homoerotic tones. They were all for the sake of comedy, but there were instances of hair pulling eliciting a sexual response in many characters, dick jokes on the same caliber as the boob jokes in your typical ecchi, character running around naked was a common occurrence, the majority of characters were male and the two main ones eventually got together, I think. All the characters act like shoujo girls pretty much: overly concerned with feelings and swooning over stuff. The creator even created gender bends while the second anime was running; I'd lost interest at that point, but it was even more fitting when the characters were female. I was thinking about this the other day but the author was very strict about never being seen, which either meant that he was gay or could be mistaken for gay (not good in Japan) or was actually a woman.

Speaking of secondaries I forgot the similar term for these people but grew people who mostly try to gain leadership on forums wanting all the accolades for minimal work. The issue is that these people don't care about the material of the forum but more of a mix of the "I sure am a part of this fandom" and the superiority complex of being an admin or moderator.

A cool thing you could do with it is use it like a radio show intro; play a little bit of it, then drop the volume down, do the intro to the episode, and talk over it until it fades out. Also, that finale episode better be an entire hour about how Vriska is best girl. :^)

This podcast has made me go back and finish homestuck through the pain. I originally stopped because I couldn't stand how shitty and boring the new kids were. I'm at act 6 act 5 now, and I am pretty fucking bored. I can only imagine what awaits me. I should probably sue. Furthermore, when's part 4?

I know that this is extremely cringy, but I`m still going to write this. I started Homestuck three years ago. At that period of my life I was very depressed. It felt like everybody wanted to physically harm or humiliate me. (Of course these were just my stupid thoughts) I was paranoically afraid of every single person I saw: my best friend, my parents, literally everyone. I used to hide in the bathroom stall in school during the breaks because I was scared someone could see me and talk to me. My life was a nightmare. Around that period of time I also started reading Homestuck. Those characters and their stupid ironic jokes were the highlights of my day. They were the reason I didn`t gave up on my dream (and on myself) and kept on keeping on every day. I wasn`t really that much into the fandom (in my country it is much smaller than in US, and I`m also not very keen on talking with people, haha :D ) but I loved the comic itself and frequently discussed it with my close friends. So, here`s a story of how Homestuck helped me to make it through very rough times. A happy story with a happy ending c: This isn`t much, but I wanted to share my experience anyway. At least here, haha Thank you for reading. Thanks to Aleks and Tad for making this short recap. You did a relly great job at explaining the horrifying mess that is Homestuck`s plot. I went SOO nostalgic. Patiently waiting for the new episode! (Sorry for grammatical/spelling errors, English is not my native language, but I gave this the best shot)

The few good things that came from Act 6 was Roxy, the alterniabound flash (mostly from laughing at how shitty everyone is) and a chunk of [S] Collide. Other than that, it was a horrendous bastardization fuelled by fans annoying Hussie. Oh my, what's up in these few pages? Oh? A tedious love triangle with three kids and the characters I liked are now going through yet another lesson of friendship and that shit. Hmm, karkat was a prick with a heart of gold you say?
