The 4 - Stroke Honda 50cc running an upgraded drive and the new pulley tilt system performed
flawlessly allowing the drive to be pulled level with the lower hull plane of the kayak to prevent
any bottom scrubbing of the prop and skeg. This setup can be modified by adjusting the pull cord
length and can be locked in place if needed. I ran my version through the factory eyelets and added
stainless links for easy detachment.
For simplicity, this tilt system uses a stainless main loop wire enclosed in a sheath that attaches to
the clutch housing. This allows the pulley to rotate as the engine turns giving full articulation of
the engine. In the video, the main bracket bolt was a bit loose so I had to use the tiller to push the
engine back down. There is a small ball bungee placed at the bottom of the bracket to limit the tilt
and help pull the system back down if an engine strike were to happen. This is gone over during the
second half of the video when I do a complete walk-through of my setup.
This is not a bow trim system and can not be used in that fashion.
You can skip to 9:41 to see the Nucanoe Pursuit setup with the manual tilt system.
