I was never able to play for the D pad of the controller, because it is uncomfortable. But this lever there seems perfect for fighting games.

13:20 I feel you, I have always been a thumbstick player, only use the dpad for dashing… I believe the controller will be perfect for me, whenever it comes out for PlayStation though… Can‘t wait! :D

How to do that on PC for Steam?

I still can't decide lol. I plan on getting both eventually. How would you compare the dpad to the 8bitdo? I'm pretty sure the non x/s wireless is the same, could be wrong though. Some 1k+ grit sand paper & flitz polish would take care of the roughness. I wouldn't mind grippy though

but the dpad uses rubber, so it will wear out over time they put micro swichtes on the buttons, but what wears out first is the dpad

You might be able to do some DIY magic on the dpad for a better texture. For example transparent tape, or a super thin layer of some lacquer/glue that solidifies. Maybe not very durable though...

Great review, I really want to buy this controller because I want something specific for fighters, but also at a reasonable price, so this controller seems perfect to me. However, here comes my question: Since the controller has an Xbox version and a PlayStation version, I wonder if there is a difference between the two controllers in terms of performance and build quality. Or is it just that, the xbox controller only works with an xbox console, the same way the playstation controller only works with a playstation console as well as a PC. I will only be using this controller for PC so I was wondering if there is any difference. I would be grateful if you could find time to help me, because I am very wondering! Thanks in advance!

Hallo! One question i get the hori fc octa for ps5,so i can only install from my laptob. This hori device Manager for the xbox. Is that working aswel? For the ps5

I agree with you. The D-Pad was disappointing for me also. I'm a slider too. lol Hopefully when/if the PS5/4 version comes out they revisit the D-Pad

There's no D-pad better than Sega Genesis's 6-button and Sega Saturn's!

Hi guys, i have the octa and i like it in general, just a thing though, is it possible to have the L3 or R3 button available to use WHILE COMPLETELY disabling the analog stick? You know, i want it like i want the L3 button BUT at the same time if i press the analog stick nothing happens. Im asking cuz i don t want unwanted button presses. Is this possible through the octa app? Or maybe through steam? If not possible, how did you remove exactly the analog stick? It is totally useless for me. Thanks and take care.

I agree with the remapping. It is almost as if they want to force you to play claw. But then why add handles if you want me to play claw? By limiting your ability to use the triggers they force you to do more work with your thumb.

just a silly update on this controller. The hori software got updated, now you can block certain buttons when remapping

Do it have turbo function?

There's an issue with the app right now. It keeps putting the sensitivity of the diagonals on the d-pad down. Returning the controller even though I had high hopes. D-pad itself I think leaves a lot to be desired.

Just tried this out today and immediately returned it. The d-pad is unbearable and way too mushy. Could barely perform shorukens. The Xbox series X controller is superior.

If there would be micro switches in the thumb-stick I would insta buy the gamepad..

If you prefer gloss buttons on your road over matte, then you don't play fighting games on pad.

You lost me at the last part after street fighter 5 - you could have made it way shorter and just give a highlight about it - That’s good if you want to keep the watch time high which gets the video out there
