@@sekiko7183 There was this story I heard from a friend of a friend. His grandpa and his great grandpa were living together. His great grandpa volunteered to move in with his grandpa after his grandma ( grandpa’s wife) passed away. His great grandpa was a widow himself, and he found it necessary to be there with his son to get him through the grieving process. His great-grandpa gets more frail and then his grandpa has to take care of him, this was not the original plan. His great grandpa thought he could stay with him for a year but it lead up to five. Eventually his grandpa got too worried to let his father live on his own. Finally his great-grandpa made it clear. “Me and you are stacked in age, but you got more years to pile-up and I’ve had one foot in the grave for 10 years now. I gotta be in a rest home, they have people who can watch and take care of me. You gotta enjoy some freedom in your life otherwise you’ll work yourself to my age much sooner.” So with his great-grandpa’s determination to move out, grandpa was convinced to let him. Great-grandpa apparently lived to be 106.

It happens all the time. Old people aren't stupid they do know when its time for assisted living or the nursing home. It is usually the emotional attachments that don't let it happen. Parents don't wanna let go of children and children are determined to care for those who raised them. That's why this happens. My grandma did the same thing at 93 she lived until 98, died from refusal to treat her stomach cancer. She thought all her friends are dead(she was proud of this, thought she had won) her children are retiring and she lived long to see 4 great grandchildren. So she refused treatment. One day she woke up started singing hymns from her childhood within 24 hours she was dead. I feel the loss because of all my family extended and immediate we were the most alike. We share a driving work ethic she worked until she couldn't anymore at 85(fall hip busted). We also have similar reserved in person personalities and strong business sense(we are both frugal), same taste in books as well(non fiction).

Lack of communication. My mother told me a story about her parents. When they were first married, my grandmother overcooked a meatloaf. Not badly, but just a little too much. My grandfather pretended to love it. So she cooked meatloaf that way until my mother and aunt were born and grown up enough to complain about. That is, after about 8 years, my grandfather finally said he was sorry but he just couldn't eat it that way anymore. My grandmother told him she cooked it that way because she thought that's how he liked it. Kind of related to this.

One of the things people miss in understanding house is his genuine admiration and respect for anyone who shows genuine love. The reason he is so cynical always because he is surrounded by lies, makes him question the theory there is good in humanity. Here he saw father son pair tired of each other, ready to abandon one another, so he has no qualms about cheating them. But the moment he mentioned poisoning the son tone changed to concern worry fear that he might lose his father, house picked up on that and realized the deep bond of love between them rarity when their relationship spans 70 years, a miracle that even House has to appreciate so he gives them sound advice to not break their bond just make small adjustments.

The stereotype of old people not understanding tech isn’t true most of the time as well they were around when it was invented hell the 102 you’re old in this was 33-35 when the first digital computer was made in 1942 ,depending on the month he was born and if he turned 102 in 2010 or is turning 103. I mean you see the progression of technology and depending on his profession he may have know somewhat the basics of how they worked back then. As well as most old people could figure it out if they wanted to they just really don’t want to learn is the issue.

Hun, dentures and fangs don’t stick perfectly 24/7. Food, water and saliva works it free and it’s the equivalent of hotgluing your clothes at the seams. You gotta keep reapplying after stress. Granted you don’t need the entire tube for one day but you gotta fix your paste like your lipstick after meals. Honestly, I carry back of fangs Incase I swallow one or it falls out. Preferably the latter.

This episode hits home. My great gran is 102. Shes totally dependant on my grandad and her other kids who, while they love her of course, they're getting tired of her dependency and having to look after her every single day while they're retired and should be off living their lives. At least in this case the 102 year old wants the home 😂

Is thallus think house kind of respected that and was nicer to them because of it. That and both of them knew well enough 102 at that point a cool breeze could be a cause of death. They just wanted a justification for them to live independently. Now the fact he had cancer was a unlucky and sucky outcome but at 102 as you age cancer isint really much of a worry you’d probably die of something else before it killed you. I mean as you age the chance of cancer goes up anyway as you’re still alive to be able to get it giving it more time for you to possibly develop it.

Watching this and the title of the video reminded me of my Gramps. Stubborn old man kept working in his school canteen work till he was 80-90. One day he got tired and was feeling faint, he accidentally slipped and fell. Head trauma led to bloodloss and cardiac arrest. Medics couldn't stop the bleed. He died on arrival to the hospital and was pronounced dead. He was the most healthy person I have ever seen because he did a check up not too long ago before his death. His brain, no problems and definitely not slow cause he beats me in checkers like a pro. Heart was healthy enough to be a organ donor for a old man. Liver, kidneys all that clean. He never smokes, he drinks only on celebrations and never takes modern medicine because he don't trust it. He was a straight arrow man start to finish. My family always told him to retire. I just hope he is up there even till now. Stubborn old man...

Don't feel too bad, old people lose the ability to survive sickness and injury even if they are healthy otherwise. If it wasn't slipping he would have caught a bad cold or something. Better to just do whatever you feel like until that happens.
