It's cool to see you and your son flying together. Flying with my kids (and now grandkids) again is one of the drivers behind me getting back into flying. I like the added airspeed and heading :) I have to second the Sporty's video recommendations. I'm currently working through the instrument rating videos (not flying yet but soon) and they are great. I'm surprised how much I remember about instrument flying.

I've been to 28J but I ovoid that place when I can. That parachute operation is gonna kill someone! Last time I was there they didn't make any radio calls & cut me off on short final!! It took all my restraint not to confront them!

I do agree with that...sometimes the $3.00 fuel does balance it out. Fortunately, they are only active on Friday through Sunday.

That was a wonderful video! I really enjoyed the ride along with you and your son! I really would like to see an in-depth engine startup for the baron! I'm not a pilot I'm a flight simmer, it'd be nice to see all the steps that you go through in order to start up a twin engine Baron! I went back and I did a search and I saw a video that you did with Angelo your son's friend. I remember that episode and I remember wondering to myself you're saying what everything is but I can't really see what you're pointing at and checking. Is there anyway you can do a video with your GoPro in hand so that I can see the gauges dials and switches as you call out your startup procedure from cold and dark. Angelo was a flight summer on X-Plane 11, and so am I! As an Enthusiast it would be nice to be able to see Click by click your startup procedures. It would also be nice to see your shutdown procedures from two engines running all the way back down to cold and dark! I'm still learning navigation and I'm finding it to be very difficult. But I will get there!

Based on distance they know the plane will be off the runway before I arrive. They can always cancel my landing clearance if needed.

You and your son make a nice team. Nice to see that. Question...…...basically everyone uses headphones these days for communications, and sound attenuation . I'm just curious to know what is the combined sound (engines, wind, etc.) decibels, without headphones, in your particular aircraft at cruise speed?

I raised him right!! I do let him fly. He has since he was young but right now he has no interest. Kills me. no more on OSH this year. I was planning on showing the flight in and a separate video on OSH but one of my main cameras didn't record on the flight so I had to go to a plan B

What is the annual upkeep and fuel cost for the Baron,? How do you synchronize the two engines.

Upkeep can vary but planning on 10K for annuals plus putting money aside for engine reserves is a safe bet. I sync them manually with a gauge on my tach. I just adjust the prop until the circle stops spinning

It's not the engines that are the problem for LOP operations, it's the fuel injectors, correct?

correct. but because they are due for TBO it doesn't make sense to change the injectors.

How long did the flight take? I'm taking flying lessons now, and I'm pretty sure I've settled on the Baron to be my first plane.

Usually in my videos I will give a altitude, ground speed and fuel burn. I usually burn around 25-26 GPH. Fuel cost vary but I try to plan my stops to keep it under $5. A gallon.
