Is it still the norm to cut lawns for $20-$25 in California? Just curious because that's how it was when I lived there a few years ago, but here in Oklahoma nothing is less than $35 except for lawnstarter customers

Such a similar path to the industry... It’s interesting that you were able to find benchmarks in the other industries in which you were involved. I also, spent time in tech (medical record system backend programming and management) and benchmark useful efficiency parallels in the two industries. Let me know if you ever do storming sessions, I’d be happy to contribute.

I retire from the Army in 6 years...Ive been thinking about numerous trades I want to get into and open my own business...HVAC, Lawn Care, Towing Company etc... I always come back to Lawn Care. The only thing that scares me is Winter Time. Like right now there are zero Lawn Mowers running around right now.

Davis fyi. We just began we have 6 stops for one day a week worth of work and our total is $633/month so I can totally believe someone can earn $65,000 or more per year with a relatively full schedule.

That's $200,000 Revenue not profit I have 6 guys working with me so most of that money I don't see and I spend no money on myself I put every dime back in the business

Hi Johnathan. In past videos, you've talked about how companies get stuck around the 500k revenue mark and fold or they're just miserable. Is it possible to have a lawn care business around that level of revenue per year that is easily manageable and optimized for maximizing profits? My market is absolutely FILLED with dozens and dozens of lawn care companies. The vast majority of these though, if not ALL of them, are owner operator style who have at most 2 trucks. The way i see these operating i doubt these guys make a 6 figure take home pay. I want to stand out frim these guys, which shouldnt be hard cuz half of them dont brand or market themselves. We are currently owner operator style, and doubled our growth last year to $140k revenue. But i don't want to stay as "the guy" forever. Cant stand it. Can you have a 500k business that has only partial involvement? Or is it essential to grow bigger for that?

its possible to do, but you wouldn't take much profit home. It would take +- 6 guys in the field and one manager. Grow the business to at least 1M in revenue. Another ' how to grow from 500k until 1M video' from Jonathan would be interesting and much appreciated !!

2 truck crews are easily making six figures, im 23 and I’m a owner operator with 2 employees grossing around 230k a year

Any chance you can do a video giving advice for me and others that were thinking of going full time in 2023 but now getting cold feet because of prediction of recession? I’m 53 and want to leave healthcare to pursue life dream of my side hustle from age 20 to full time. I’m Solo with about 35 customers. I could do more but just run out of daylight. Getting tough to do both. .

You want to be in front of leads right when the problems you solve are becoming apparent to them. The first few warm days of the year, when grass starts to take off is when people are thinking about lawn care.
