I found the best running coach in NYC to help me prepare for my goal of a sub-5 mile and marathon - Parker Gregory. He specializes in training hybrid and endurance athletes - from any strength or endurance based training (running, triathlons, Hyrox, etc). I’ll share how I found Parker and the process that led me to select him as my running coach.
P.S. this was all filmed before I broke my foot!

Proper video, i love Parker's approach to coaching. He kept it so real yet shares a great positive outlook. He said a couple of things in this video which resonates with me and is a good reminder on how i need to rebalance my physical exertion and have the ability recover equally. I bike about 102 miles (164km) throughout the week and some days while biking i truly feel gassed and physically fatigued even before i hit my halfway mark on my ride, but mentally i just tell myself to dont stop moving, even if i have to ride slow, i gotta push through the pain as i know i can do it. Great video again, you looked in great form while training. Even with the shin splits. You are absolutely a unit 🙌 I hope you make a fully recovery from your broken foot. Cheers! 🫶

Even the mile is predominantly aerobic so some longer zone 2 runs will also help.

Wow Shervin. This video was amazing! What advice would you give a 42 year old with VO2 max of 28 that’s 95kg and around 5’9”? I need to get fit, not only for myself but my 7 year old son. Any advice would be greatly appreciated mate. Thanks

Starting doing workouts that are specific to the goals you want to achieve! If it’s vo2 max then do those cardio workouts

Shin splints AND breaking a foot? A good coach would have given you some realistic goals and take much more time to build the base. But anyone could figure that out for him/ herself pretty much anyway. Beginner's mistakes IMO.
