To me, there was never any question that they're still in Kwangya based on the background glitching in the "Spicy" video. I really hope they come back to that storyline eventually.

i think you've put some of my thoughts/headcanons into words with this one! it's hard to have hopes on sm creativity-wise these days since frankly i have no idea what they're doing with their artists rn, but i've had similar headcanons about what's going on at the moment, though not as detailed as your explanation here. i hope we're all going to the right direction, because this is such a cool concept. also, we need another cawman video 😔

Gosh I hope you're right. It would be a pity if all the lore of aespa had been drop because of Lee Soo-man's exit from SM. As someone who was there from the beginning the "ending" of defeating the black mamba felt so anticlimactic that I hope your theory is right.

My only connection i have is that in Drama in an AU, Black Mamba infected the avatars and now in the real world, the AI is trying to off the members. Hint: Salty & Sweet. BoA at the end of thethird episode shows that Black mamba or at least her creator/main villain are far away from done and there was even shot of BoA during Black mamba MV. Now, the storyline will be probably adjusted/changed without Lee Soman's inputs and with the fact that BoA right now isn't feeling well and planning to retire next year, so I'm expecting at least one more real world concept before the next form of villan shows up and if/when Naevis regains her powers. (But hot take, i definitely think she's related to evil in Kwagnya more than it seems).

I literally did a blogpost about this at the beginning/end of year after that video about the SMCU being so called DEAD but really DRAMA is just a continuation of lore. Also a lot fans don't watch the SM artist videos i.e. Key, NCT, Red Velvet still have major ties like the car crashes in Killer and Drama, NCT Wish WISH and Supernova falling into cars. I literally had to make a playlist because it just kept continuing even Ningning Cheese shoes and Suho has a song named Cheese featuring RV's Wendy.

I just always assumed the events of the Drama MV took place before welcome My world and spicy and sometime after Girls but not still in that mini album time line if not then like no longer than 5 seconds after that mini. Maybe drama could even take place before girls cause we didn’t get an SM culture universe episode for the girls comeback when it came out. I’m not too attached to the Aespa lore or Aespa in general but I had just assumed that My world and Spicy released after girls so that they had a sound and concept that SM could debut navies into eventually and or have a direction for the girls to mature into similar to how twice set up fancy and feel special to mature there concept later on and how NCT dream used Hello future to also mature there concept.

You're take about drama and spicy being homages to film genres turn into simulations or illusions its kinda the same lore I thought. That would explain salty and sweet being "kwangya-coded" even though they're supposed to be in the real world. Maybe they are poisoned so they don't realise it is all an illusion and that's why they don't notice thw glitchs in spicy and then they get fully into drama's concept, but still glitching like when they are in the roof and they change positions

Aes are known to be digital versions of oneself and in drama aespa seems to be fighting themselves. Meaning black mambas corruption has extended onto the aes and there’s no rule there can be one ae because our digital selves change all the time with trends coming and going.

I agree. It makes sense. I thought the glitches in the real world happened because Kwangyan was getting fused with the real world, but it all being a Kwangyan generated world also makes sense. I honestly feel sad that a lot of ppl think Spicy and Drama were complete departures from the core concept and lore, but like, they're clearly not.

You set the bars very high for your videos. I came expecting that this video will be great, but it's definitely more than that. cool theory! i see it more as they defeated black mamba, and went back to the real world. but they were changed from their time in kwanga. so in SPICY/MY WORLD, we see them trying to be normal girls again, but they're so shiny and fake now after their time in AI. and maybe brought some of the flat back with them. and then in DRAMA, they go back to fighting evil but now in the real world. but now i'm rethinking that

I'll just try to address the question why too much data was a problem and appeared to defeat Black Mamba. If it is an AI system then it runs on a machine with physical elements for storage and processing which inherently means there are limitations. Giselle asked Ningning to upload an exabyte of data hoping to cause buffer overflow, which can and did crash the system. A real world example of this is that commercial websites have crashed and gone down when there was too much traffic overloading its capacity to service requests.

In the end thanks to the director of the last comeback we found out the strange phenomenon was caused by the meeting and mixing of our world with a parallel one, an ai-destroyed world where another version of aespa ended up being corrupted by the AIs (I think they fused with their æs or in that world, black mamba won?) , gained superpowers and became evil. We first see them in supernova creating chaos. And then real aespa fight them in Armageddon, or at least that's what i understood. I hope i got it right. So i guess in drama they were already fighting each other because they weren't sure of who is who, who is the real one. But to be honest with you there is too much difference in behaviour between spicy aespa and drama/Armageddon aespa. So idk.

escaping to kwangya rn

this theory then tracks for SUPERNOVA, a classic superhero motif that would make sense in the kwanya simulation of the real world. but how do we fit in armageddon? the lyrics seem to reference the lore & the mv is full of imagery from the early SM episodes. Perhaps the real world and the virtual world have collided/the leak became a flood, merging aespa and their aes in the real world? "Now define it / My personal definition of complete / I shall lead every part of me / Do it all myself / At last complete myself" sidenote: there are 3 KOSMOZENS, gigantic celestial beings.................... and in the armageddon video it kind of seems like karina, winter and ningning are turning into/evolving into gigantic celestial beings..................................................... but not giselle, but why leave her out? perhaps the kosmozens theory is totally batshit but still oddly giselle seems to be the only one not turning into/merging into a Higher Form... and maybe it's all still in the kwangya but the entire concept seems like the real world is getting totally effed up by the virtual world now .... LOVEEEE THIS THEORY. I wanna share my theory too tho to see I have a similar theory but instead of them still being inside kwangya what if the worlds are crashing into each other. Let me explain From the better things show and better things mv we meet this Alexa type box (I forgot the name so imma call her AElexa). AElexa reveal she can grant wishes (even though she can be mischievous with how to wishes come out to be). I’m thinking either one of the aespa members, navis, or someone else may have made a wish which caused an overlap in multiple universes. I have a feeling I’m right cus in the mini show aespa did after drama we see this box twice. First ep when they playing hide and seek and it’s revealed that the aespa members are actually ghost in their moms house and in the second ep when they suspect one of the Aespa members are not human. Both is the same house but different furniture. Even in bookish theories video for drama she thinks the aespa members have multiple versions of themselves. One version that’s trying to hurt each other and the other side trying to save everyone. I believe this also helps my theory too. So the question is who made the wish? My theory is it’s winter. In better things she was the one who had the dream. In Welcome to my world she also said “Here’s the invitation, come to me” which could also be the fact she made the wish to bring naevis back to her but the plan got messed up. Could also be naevis herself but let’s see.
