I'm pretty sure the timeline that Thanos abandoned when he attacked Earth in Endgame should constitute a bigger split than Loki scampering off. How did Cap fix THAT one? I guess the TVA just nuked that whole branch!

I think he used the time stone to put all the stones back in their original form, like space stone inside tesseract, mind stone back in Loki staff, etc. I can imagine him returning the time stone at the very end, and having a little chit chat with the Ancient One about the pros and cons of time travelling before going back to live his alternate life.

What if at the end of this series Loki returns to the point of facing Thanos to die. Then switches places with himself and thus allowing himself to live. “I assure you, brother, the sun will shine on us again.”

Deadpool will also be recruited by the TVA since he plays to much with the time travel device when Cable is not watching. Season 2 is a buddy cop series of DP and Loki in time travel shenanigans.

Technically the events of this series luck off right after Avengers but in the Avengers film Loki is taken back to Asgard; it's only in Endgame that he escapes..so it's up to you.

right? this is so confusing to me. Loki taking the tesseract shouldnt be THE moment an alternate timeline gets created yet he is blamed for everything. additionally, by escaping with the tesseract, he didnt remove it from his own timeline. its the space stone, he simply relocated himself in space.

Yepp, everything is confusing but im still in for it. Also, remember that 2014 Thanos, Thanos Army, and Nebula are gone while 2014 Gamora is missing. Why isn't that a problem for the TVA?

Cap returned all the infinity stones in their correct timeline. Cap being in the past with Peggy does create a separate timeline but that does not threaten the sacred timeline, thus TVA doesn't get involved. The important difference with Loki is that Loki escaped with an infinity stone, thus creates a possibility that the sacred timeline to be replaced with another one. And TVA is trying to fix that. I think that clarifies some of their convoluted logic.

Of course. Thanos being dead in the 2014 timeline also creates a huge change. I'd take the TVA with a grain of salt. Don't assume they are good guys who can fix timelines just because they say so. Heck - we are looking at Kang the Conquerer's lover - and Kang hasn't shown up yet. Things are going to get crazy.

So the TVA showed Loki his future and showed him that he ended up dying at the hands of Thanos...well what if they brought him there to let him help with some other issues that they’re having and in exchange giving him his life back in our main timeline?!?!? Because you know Loki will have to come back to our main timeline somehow.

@@KazeKumo wait, Loki from this Loki Disney+ is from alternate timeline right? the one with no Thanos 2014 upward (because that Thanos jumps to 2019 real MCU timeline universe and died there, so no Thanos, and all those reality stone exist and intact because Cap's put it back there).

Great video! The ancient one said that if you remove a stone from a timeline the flow of time splits. But the space stone never left this particular timeline.

By the movie logic, the branch timelines arent clipped and go back to the main MCU timeline. They are still alternate timelines, but won't be "screwed" because they returned the stones. That's why when CA went back and lived with Peggy, he created an alternate timeline because he changed the past

With the introduction of the TVA, I've been trying to understand how Cap going back, and staying in the past isn't considering a branched timeline? Timeline 1 - Cap is 'asleep' for 60 years but hasn't aged, awakens and helps bury Peggy. Timeline 2 - Cap puts the infinity stones back, but stays in the past, living out his entire life with Peggy.

3:35 "Bring Loki's scepter with the mind stone" No Erik. He didn't take the scepter back. Why would he? Remember the Avengers originally thought that *SHEILD* had the scepter. In fact it was Hydra. And Hydra knows that Captain America is on to them. There is no conceivable plan that Steve would come up with that would involve giving the scepter back to Hydra.

There are multiple singe lines in the robot detector machine which is why Loki asks if that happens often. I would like to see that come into play for the season finale.

Maybe because Loki wasn't really meant to escape since Tony Stark mentioned "there was no version of this that he came from the top" so it alter reality or timeline? Just thinking out loud haha.

Not sure if anyone else has commented on this or not, but in the trailer there's a scene where Loki and Morbius are sitting at a table with a little monitor and some soda cans around them. I believe those cans are of Josta. It was a little known drink from the 90s that Pepsi put out. It was one of the first energy drinks, bit wasn't marketed as such. Loved that stuff!

Wouldn't this mean that Loki's version or "variant" time-line now has an alternate version of Thanos still ready and attempting to carry out his original plot? With that being the case, couldn't they end the Loki series with his character being snapped away/brought back again bc of the variant avengers reaching the same plot as the "sacred" time line avengers had reached in Endgame?

The thing that isn't mentioned is whether a timeline can be clipped (or rather allowed to still play out) WITHOUT restoring it to the main timeline (or rather, without affecting the sanctity of the main timeline), Donnie Darko style. (which had a doomed timeline, all to serve the purpose of making sure the main timeline stays stable) I suspect this may be the case here, the TVA essentially recruiting entities from doomed timelines (like Donnie Darko) to serve the purpose of making sure the main timeline doesn't get broken. (Even if it does actually involve interfering with the main timeline, like how Donnie Darko sent that engine over)

2:25 not only they have to put back the stones, but the time traveling characters who left as well. For the alternate 2014, you have to return Thanos and his entire army to their proper timeline, they are as crucial as the stones to the timeline

Loki from the first Avengers film is a variant because for the sacred timeline to stay in tact he was to continue on & meet his fate in End game by avoiding said fate he became a variant that needed to be pruned.

I think the reason why Loki is hurting the timeline more than the avengers, is because of the infinite choices he could have made in terms of where to travel to with the tesseract, The tesseract allows you to travel 3-dimensionally which means Loki at the time of teleportation, could have traveled to 3^n different points across all 3D space, therefore creates infinite branch timelines. Keep in mind that assuming the tesseract does not grand multiverse travel capabilities, history earlier than 2012 would never be changed, and all the changes made branch off from that 2012 time heist mission timeline. Thus the 1970 timeline would not have led to Loki escaping.

When Loki was on trial I was expecting him to play the Avengers card harder. when he was told the Avenger's time heist was supposed to happen, I was expecting, Loki to say "Then I was supposed to escape." and then explaining that if the events in the time heist were supposed to play out the way it did then the Hulk was supposed to hit Tony with the door and the Tesseract was always supposed to slide across the floor to Loki's feet. And is it not in Loki's nature to take advantage of the situation? So that means Loki was supposed to escape. But what if the time heist was supposed to succeed then that means Loki is innocent because he did not influence the time heist, that was the hulk so if anything the hulk is guilty. This would be the perfect time for Mobius to stand up and approach the bench and take over with Loki and us never getting a response to what Loki said.

The timeline is one line with events meant to happen. From our perspective as the audience there is a timelines Within that timeline there is another from the character POV Maybe changes in the character timeline are meant to happen(endgame) on the audience timeline which is on the outside
