WE"RE REACTING TO ANDOR FOR THE VERY FIRST TIME!
In an era filled with danger, deception, and intrigue, Cassian will embark on the path that is destined to turn him into a Rebel hero.
About Star Wars Andor:
Andor, also known as Star Wars: Andor, is an American science fiction television series created by Tony Gilroy for the streaming service Disney+.
Beginning five years before the events of Rogue One (2016) and A New Hope (1977), the series follows an ensemble cast of characters during the time that a Rebel Alliance is forming in opposition to the Galactic Empire. One of these characters is Cassian Andor, a thief who becomes a revolutionary and eventually joins the Rebellion.
Andor was a vital part of Rogue One, the team that ultimately succeeded in obtaining the Death Star plans from the Imperial facility and uploading them to the Rebel Alliance. He and every member of Rogue One gave their lives to save billions of others.

This is the darkest that Star Wars has ever gone since Revenge of the Sith.

Cinta is right about Vel. She lived a privileged life and has no visceral reasons to hate the empire unlike Cinta. She’s coming more from the intellectual side of it which was in stark contrast with everybody else in heist.

I'm a 39 year old life long Star Wars fan, and I have to say that I was NEVER BEFORE so terrified of the Empire as I was during the prison arch of this series that aired not even a year and a half ago! And THAT'S saying quite a bit when you consider that they destroyed an entire planet and flamed Uncle Owen and Aunt Beru to smouldering skeletons way back in '77!!

I very much liked your observations about Syril and his mother Eedy. But don’t lose all sympathy for her . The beauty of this relationship is that there are plenty of Syrils out there and there are also plenty of Eedys. And whilst it’s an extremely toxic relationship, it’s not black-and-white: It’s far more complex than “she’s a terrible mother who doesn’t love and abuses her son” . The two actors invented a backstory involving Syril’s father, leaving the family under very acrimonious circumstances when he was a child. Kathryn Hunter describes Eedy as a “thwarted woman” - which goes along way to describing her behaviour. It’s a very flawed relationship, obviously, but it’s not an unrealistic one and it’s not one that is based purely on hatred. As with everything else in Andor, it’s far more complicated and nuanced than that. It’s why Syril cuts such a tragic figure in a way: he wants for himself basically what his mother wants for him too, and he kind of hates himself for that but can’t help it at the same time. And as for Dedra … here is another strong woman who can dominate him. Eek!

We've been largely rooting for Dedra up until now. And this episode reminds us that she's just as evil as the rest of them.

I love your observation about how table 5 are so supportive of Ulaf. It shows us, rather than tells us, about what basically very good men each of those individuals is. Cassian‘s behaviour is especially touching, as it shows us again how he is ready to make some leadership decisions but doesn’t want the credit . I’m sure you’ve seen episode 10 by now, but it’s no spoilers to say that when things start happening…. we really care about each of these individuals. Excellent storytelling.! And a great reaction..

Its so nice to watch someone with actual media literacy watch this show and understand it immediately! More than so called "fans" of the series. Loving the analysis!!!! SO EXCITED for you to watch episode 10!!!!

I don’t think Kino is in it for the power, he really cares about his men and is completely motivated by the desire to get out. He thinks that if he does what he’s supposed to do, he’ll eventually be released.

The doctor is such a happy little psychopath. ‘So, this is reaaaally cool! We murdered an entire species and the kids made a very disturbing noise when they were slaughtered which we’re going to use to turn your brain to mush. Isn’t that amazing!?!’

Nobody’s Listening has so many meanings. Nobody’s listening to Bigg’s screams, nobody’s listening to Mon Mothma’s pleas, and nobody’s listening to the prisoners’ situation.

Denise Gough is an absolutely astounding face actor. Looking at her face is as good as hearing the dialog.

"her reward system is affection!!" Holly shit! what concise way too describe such parent and son relation. Hmm sadly from mine personal experience i see myself in Syril more than i m keen too admit. Its refreshing when star wars can scoop such heavy and very realistic, adult topics in such sharp scriptwriting. Evolve topics organically without losing main narrative "how rebellions are born under competent repressive regimes". Bravo Gilroy and its team.

The Contrast between the 2 mothers and the interactions with their sons. Andor can't stay at home and Syril is stuck at his mom's. Keep an eye on their parallels.
