You and I are going to drink a lot of coffee together. Like, borderline dangerous amounts of coffee.
So, first things first. Pour yourself a mug and I’ll introduce myself real quick.
My name’s Jordan - but everyone calls me “J” - and I’m a 27th degree black belt in chugging coffee.
I’m also strength & nutrition coach, I hold several powerlifting world records, and I’ve been fortunate enough to have my writing featured in a variety of outlets like CNN, the Huffington Post, and Schwarzenegger.com.
But listen.
This channel isn’t for fame, publicity, cash, props, fist bumps, likes, pings, pows or whatever else there is.
It’s a place where you and I can chat.
I’ll never sugar coat, lie, or beat around the bush. I’ll tell you everything exactly as I see it. Some stuff you might like. Others you might not.
And that’s totally cool.
Either way, my goal here is to create a discussion. A place where you and I can get together, exchange ideas, and motivate each other to be better every day.
Like I said, we’re gonna drink a lot of coffee together - borderline dangerous amounts - but I’m excited. Because there aren’t too many online communities in which the sole purpose is to inspire and motivate one another.
And that’s exactly what you and I are going to do here.
To your success,
-J

I could literally watch her all day. 😍 I love the disclaimer of not forcing your kids to stay in a sport/activity if they’re unhappy. Kids (as well as adults) won’t continue to do something long term if it’s not something they enjoy.

Monkey see monkey do! I’ve noticed when I’m outside moving around my kids are outside more playing basketball, soccer, wiffle ball. When I’m being lazy on the couch they are too. So now even if I want some downtime I try to relax outside or read outside because they’ll still follow me outside but be active out there while I read or just sit and get sunshine

This is great! Like my credit, my body was ruined before I ever understood how to care for it. Now, even though disabled, I'm working to restore it as best I can and I LOVE seeing how wildly capable this body really is. With a little creative adapting, I'm doing things I never thought I'd be able to. I have a 4-month-old granddaughter and a new little grandson coming in just a couple of weeks, and I always advise my daughters that the best thing they can do for their children is to show them that it's possible to change and that it can be a great thing! I can't wait to be active with them and I hope that doing so encourages a life of good health and mobility for them. :)

Love this message, promoting exercise as a fun thing to do and something normal for our kids. Would love to see more content with this message. I been allowing my 5 and 2yo to join me in my home gym, workout for me and playtime for them. During my rest we have dance parties. My kids will also try and mimic some of the exercises. The goal is fun 😁

I love this video for so many reasons. Kids really do absorb and mimic what their parents do! I’ve been eating healthier and working out more since the end of November and now my 3 and 4 year old boys are constantly asking me if what they eat has protein in it 😂 and after every bite they ask me to feel their muscles. Their favorite thing to eat lately is taquitos “because they make me super fast!” After explaining this they will race through the house to demonstrate. My kids absolutely do more steps than me through play and all I know is I wanna be a little more like them when I grow up 😆

So interesting! Never thought about it but we were always outside moving as kids (in the 80s), feels like todays kids /parents need to be a little more intentional about movement now that there’s so many inside/digital options for entertainment. Also, random, but I did this experiment once on my young boxer dog and despite copious naps throughout the day, she too got about 9k steps in total!

The experiment I never knew I really wanted to know the answer to. LOL Such an important message about not teaching your kids that exercise is a punishment. And especially loved what you said about they are always watching. I think that's the thing that kills me the most about seeing parents give up on their health goals cause it's too hard. Your kids absolutely see that and learn from it.... :(
