I guess, someone with a gymnastics background with enough experience and understanding to be able to explain some important and overlooked nuances about the joint positioning, proper tension creation etc. Carl Paoli is very good at explaining things like that, but it seems like his focus is on something completely different these days. But I'm sure you are way more aware of some specialists, so we trust that you would make the right choice anyway! Appreciate it!@@TheJackedVegan

@TheJackedVegan

You wouldn’t really need a whole video on this topic, most glute exercises will help. Glutes bridges, reverse hyperextensions, hip thrusts etc

@@TheJackedVegan wow ok thanks, I'm still learning adv tuck so I heard that you need to activate your glutes, so I was just looking for exercises, cause maybe my glutes are not strong enough, but still even if they are I heard you talk a lot about how they burn in straddle so I'm already trying to prepare them. Thanks for the exercises! I love your videos because they concentrate on the planche, so that really helps

There seems to be a trade off in Mr Wong's approach: by opening the angle /increasing height/ shifting back , we also put more weight behind us which is the crux of the problem in planche, ie trying to support our legs . I have tried his technique and it does give good power transfer , but I wonder if one is not going for a handstand raise out of planche but simply a static hold if a big forward lean is not more beneficial?
@MrWong_SW
@MrWong_SW 7 ай бұрын
That’s a good theoretical observation there but you have to take the height we gain into consideration. By increasing the elevation, we move the fulcrum closer to the load ( center of mass ) and decrease the effort needed to hold the Planche since the distance between the fulcrum and effort has increased. Correct me if I’m wrong, my physics is not my strong suit in the sciences 😅. In anatomical terms, leaning more forward will disengage the serratus anterior because you are bringing the arm closer to the body hence entering a retraction. Hope this explanation helps you understand it better, again if you think I’m wrong and have a good explanation for it, I’m more than happy to listen and learn from it🙏🏻
@JamieVegan8
@JamieVegan8 7 ай бұрын
@@MrWong_SW thanks Marcus, in the end all the theory ends when the rubber hits the road , so I will definitely train your style and compare it in terms of hold time, perceived effort etc
@Jeff_123
@Jeff_123 7 ай бұрын
@@JamieVegan8 Your original explanation will be correct if we do not account for the protraction. Cus by rounding a bit more, (not excessively but the correct way), we can shorten the body's length a bit (from head to toe), that way, less lean is required to hold a planche resulting in an easier hold.
@lucas59190
@lucas59190 7 ай бұрын
@@Jeff_123 In long term it will be easier indeed but the protraction is something hard to learn in first place. The more weight you have, more strength is need. There is also a part of genetics in protraction, depending how your back is built: lats insertion, trapezus insertion etc

I think that if the grip strengh and the forearm strengh was a important factor in the realization of the full planche most of the practitioners of grapling like judo, jiu-jitsu and others martial arts focused in the grip could do it, but that's not the case. I have been training judo for 3 years and I develop very strongh grip and forearms, but even like that I can't do the full planche or his progressions. Then, why do you talk about grip strengh and forearm strengh when that represents nothing in the realization of a full planche?
@user-uq9qb2ft3q
@user-uq9qb2ft3q 6 ай бұрын
That's not because you think you have a good grip that you actually have a good grip man. The planche relies on the activation of the all chain from shoulders to your hands. You cannot have a planche if one of the part (link of that chain) is weak, it will ruin everything. So everybody talk about biceps and shoulder (front delt) but as Valentin OTZ said, it's 1/3, 1/3 and 1/3 from shoulder to the hand/forearm passing by the biceps.
@Andrew-qi7wc
@Andrew-qi7wc 5 ай бұрын
You don’t make any sense. He never said grip strength is the #1 important factor, just that it IS important, but everything else needs be strong too. Many people have crazy strong grip but ofc that doesn’t mean they can planche, what are you even talking about
