When they find a new source of supply they are trying to secure, their personality will literally change because they are concentrating so hard on mirroring and love bombing that person. They will say things to you that make no sense because in their minds they are focussed on that new source of supply they are trying to get nailed down. It’s VERY CREEPY!!

Yes!! Saying new little words my friend always used. That's how I knew it was her. My backstabbing ex-friend. And of course he still denies it. When I bring up certain things that could be proof, he says I don't know what you're talking about. That's my favorite line that he uses. I have no idea what you're talking about.

@@rooserroo Don’t waste 30 years like I did! I finally got off the roller coaster. Multiple affairs…they DON’T change! Plz don’t let him know your plans to leave…Then he’ll just love bomb you back into his web of lies! Divorce is tough…but living with a narcissist will slowly suck the life out of you! I hate divorce, living alone was frightening for me….but once I adjusted, I found my inner strength and experienced joy once again. You can do it too! You deserve to be truly loved…and that also means loving yourself! 💖💖

One of the common mental illnesses you get from Narcissistic abuse is PTSD. An empath can be diagnosed with PTSD after Narcissistic abuse .

Recently my now eX partner and I were out walking and we passed a young girl with a hare lip. Once she was out of earshot he started doing a horrific impression of someone with a speech impediment and laughing. I was utterly appalled and just stared at him in shock. He then said ‘What? I’m just trying to make you feel better about yourself’ I suddenly twigged that’s how he makes himself feel better about himself by mocking others and his mask had just slipped. It’s made me feel sick tbh.

A personal experience of mine dealing with a narcissist was me telling him I was tired and needed sleep. His response was “why?” I told him “because I just spent 8 hrs working.” His response was that I was an adult and that I could push through it. He told on himself that he’s a person with no concern or empathy. He had no care for the fact I was tired or that I had already spent the day pushing through because of course I was there to entertain him and he wasn’t tired. That’s how narcs think. I listen very close to what people say and I speak less than I listen. If you pay attention ppl tell on themselves all the time.

Just yesterday I asked my wife a question about a situation she told me she was involved in when she was younger She called me a liar and said she never told me that, I reminded her of the subject of the conversation in which she told me of the incident, She calls me a liar again this but time she says " you're a liar because that's not the conversation I mentioned that in" To which I replied "well in which conversation did you mention it to me?" Just as she was about to reply, she caught herself let out a guttural scream and shutdown refusing to speak.

My ex was always telling me that I was a manipulative game-player. The more he said this, the more I tried to be direct and articulate about needs, wants, whatever. He never took my needs and wants seriously, but kept calling me a manipulative game-player. I finally asked him how he could "tell" when I was playing a manipulative game. He said when I say thing that get him all choked up. So, in other words, I was so articulate that he was feeling empathy, so he crushed the empathy, and decided that I was trying to emotionally manipulate him. And he shut is down.

You can tell something is off by the stupidity that comes out of their mouth.That's one way narrcissts tell on themselves. It's crazy how their minds work.

Absolutely spot on. My ex narcissist left me for his new supply, he had a child with her and came back to me. At Xmas he was furious and showed me photos she had sent him of a farm with reindeer. He was shouting how dare she take him and he couldn't go. A few weeks later I found a bus ticket to the Reindeer park in his dirty washing, I thought back to the time it must have happened and realised that was when he had picked a huge fight with me and left for 3 days. This was one of many times. You just have to wait, because they will throw it in your face weeks down the line they can't resist.

My ex husband would change the way he dressed, the music he listened to, and His vocabulary would change as well. It was like watching a chameleon! Our children would watch these changes and wonder what on earth he was going through. Well now we know! She may have been teaching you about narcissists to throw you off the scent that she's a narcissist. Kinda like, "If I'm taking the time to protect you against this type of person then obviously I'm not one of them". By creating an us against them scenario and making her part of the "us" then there's no way she could be the "them". All to cover up that she is in fact one of them.

She hit the nail on the head with the new supply. I noticed my narc had started to talk about his child's mother A LOT at this time him n I were 5 yrs in and I NEVER heard him talk about her (their son was an adult at this time) I flat out asked him if they were back involved (I didn't ask that nicely) he looked super shocked and denied it well low in behold a month or so later his phone dings at 6 am while he was in the shower and I looked at it and not to my surprise it was her sending a sexual charged message....smh....they are all liars and cheaters. 8 years of that crap was enough for me. I have left and I'm NEVER looking back ....

I was always left to feel confused when the narcissist would say to me 'If we ever split up we could never remain friends'. Very contradictory, as the narcissist considered us as soulmates whilst the relationship was active. Thankfully, the 14 year long relationship ended all of a sudden without any logical explanation. So to sum up., the narcissist was right about us not being able to be friends. Once I had figured her out and realused that she didn't even see me as a friend from day 1 it became very clear in my head what this was all about! Note: Remember the lesson not the disappointment. Sail on!

They tend to put on a good front of being smart but it often proves to be paper-thin and poking a hole in them is just a matter of pulling them into a discussion that goes more than one level deep and then holding them there no matter how hard they try to spin the conversation away form their obvious ignorance.

My Ex is a compulsive liar! I'd confront her and say that didn't happen, she'd insist it did then turn it round and start saying about something that happened months ago, to get away from the lie, then start and argument saying I was a liar.. they're seriously mentally I'll people, you can never win an argument with a narcissist because they simply just won't stop lying.. really sad and twisted.

Thank you for explaining this as a 3rd party. This helps victims a great deal. They write on the wall and deny it was them who wrote. Wild people fall for the massive infinite lies, while knowing they are being manipulated. Crazy manipulation is hard to digest. Projection is extremely disturbing.

telling on themselves #3; get them drunk. really drunk. the guilt will come out, especially if there is not that much talking. because if he is not talking his mind is racing. and the more his mind races the more his quilt build up. Projecting; at times I would hear this from my Narc (of course I would). he would say that person did that, or this person did this. or xx should not have done that. yet he did the same things he was complaing about a year or so earlier! and when I noticed it I would question it to myself because I knew he did those things to but I did not really understand Narcissism well at all. but today I can see it for what it was.

A give away was how he talked. He said phrases and words in sentences he never used before but his new supply did. Some words he'd use didn't make any sense and when I'd ask the meaning of the phrase or word, he had no idea. He'd get it so wrong. He would even mock the supplys voice, that was creepy. His food choices changed. All of a sudden he expressed how much he loved frozen fish sticks, pancakes, microwave popcorn, lunch meat and premade frozen foods and TV dinners. He hated that stuff before. He needed it to love bomb another by making quick meals for the new supply while I was working. His clothes were comming up missing without an explaination. Then one day he said someone must be stealing them. Out of the blue he washed the bedding on my bed. ? (But by this time of the marriage he made his permanent sleeping space in the livingroom.) Her perfume was musk. It lingered in my home so I knew as soon as I'd walk in. It's hard to get out of stuff. His clothes would reek of it. Everytime different 'New Supply' changed, these things would change too. It would only be a day or two after a discard he would all of a sudden be nice to me and say he wanted to reconcile. Sometimes within minutes he would change from Mr. Nice to Mr. Evil. That depended who drove by in front of our house. When we were in public and someone call out or waved at him, he'd claim it was for someone else or it didn't happen or he didn't hear/see anything. His mood and expressions would change as fast as it takes ball to reach the other side of the table in a ping pong game. That's the minor petty stuff in this marriage. The big stuff was a nightmare.

I was with my ex-husband for 41 years. He always wanted us to live where we had no neighbors. That should not been a glowing neon sign. Things got a little better but still wanted to live with no neighbors. Actually things were ok except for his controlling nature. After the birth of our 2nd child, I started seeing more and more control problems. I still didn’t get it. We would have an argument off and on and he would get so angry about small things. He wouldn’t have Christmas with my family at all. He went deer hunting. That was always supreme. He wouldn’t go to things our daughters were in like school plays, church programs, soccer games, dance recitals or, gym meets. I had to call him to let him know our youngest placed 1st on bars and floor and second in vault and beam and 2nd in the all around. She was a state champion. He knew it was for the state championship. He decided to stay home and accomplish nothing. Our oldest was a dancer. She competed and earned the gold. She got to dance in London. I raised $1500.00 by myself so she could go. I put up with all of the gaslighting, put downs, and plain old meanness. He would fuss at me and degrade me first thing in the morning. Many times I had silent tears running down my face. That seemed to be like throwing gasoline on a fire for him. One particularly bad morning, I left. I took nothing but my dog and her food. I had $3.00 in my wallet. Somehow, I survived. I wish I would have planned leaving. I left with practically nothing. Things have been hard but absolutely worth it.

It’s a never ending cycle of being accused of things but in reality it’s what the other person IS doing… unfortunately I have a child to raise with my ex-narc and the cycle continues. I’ve notified the court on three separate occasions but for whatever reason we BOTH are assigned coparenting classes and high-conflict parenting classes. It’s exhausting. He has a new supply and cannot stop himself from inserting her in any of the conversations we have ie; how great she is, she’s a great “mother figure” on his time, the list goes on 🙄

Get really good at grey rocking him. Seriously. Don't respond to anything but essential business with this person, and keep those answers short and to the point, with zero emotion. Don't ever let him bait you into anything. Adopt the mantra he is just showing you exactly who he is. That's the only way you can get through the hell that is co-parenting with a narcissist. I've had to come to a deep acceptance that my kids are going to get hurt emotionally and there's nothing I can do about that other than to give them the very best of me that I can, and get them therapy. I have made it my duty to show them what a healthy person looks like, and a healthy person would never engage with the nonsense a narcissist tries to bait us with. They would ignore that nonsense and get on with their day.

They do tell on themselves. Mine told me how he was cheated on by others for empathy and in the end he had a sidepiece he ran me out of the house to be with. He didn't accuse me of cheating ever, he was basically using my empathy to deflect me from thinking he was actually the cheater.

I’m totally 100 percent with you on this, they think they’re so sleek or that they’re being subtle - hard to tell or low impact. But in reality it’s obvious & screaming out - yes they’re basically oblivious. And when you don’t fall for their tricks for long, eventually they can tell that you know… their mask has fallen, so their behavior towards you completely changes.. I always say this to them; you should hv been smarter about it all, why be angered at your survivor because you got caught

Absolutely what they do! EARLY morning work meeting but work has never had meetings that early in the am. You find out the new supply source is meeting up with them in the early morning before work because it is the easiest time slot for them not to have to explain their absence from their regular life as well. Also new underwear, and suddenly new diet, hair style and vague answers to where they have been and Whaley are doing.

If they are direct to the point, and some what genuine in there answer they are telling the truth. Now if you ask another question you know there going to lie about. Ask them, and this time listen closely if they are taking their time to think of the answer or they are saying uh-huh or uh to many times or waving there hands to much to talk. That means they are lying.

Silly as this sounds, one day I had just cleaned out the refrigerator, completely. It took about an hour, maybe more. There was a lot of stuff in it. Refrigerator cleaned, my lady comes home, spills red liquid in the refrigerator I just cleaned up. The bottom reservoir was full with this liquid. When I tried to ask her to clean it up, she blew it off. Of course it became a thing when it didn’t have to. Amazingly the discussion all of the sudden turned into “do you want someone younger?” Out of nowhere and had nothing to do with anything. Or a friend of mine passed from Covid, right before Christmas. This person was very important to me, and was a female. As I’m grieving this loss my lady decided that her “friend” needed her more and left for a few hours. I asked her how could she have left so easily. Her response, “I didn’t know you were serious” to “get comfort somewhere else”. Are these good examples someone who’s unfaithful? Clearly she’s selfish.

I wish I had awareness of this kind of thing back say, in 2007 or so.. Ii could have so badly written my history so differently, i think i just heard what sounded like tearing coming from my heart. It probably just ripped itself apart a little bit more. I can never help thinking that narcissists are like their own species. Like, they are so deranged? Mentally and morally skewed? So much so, that it literally is enough to set them completely apart from the rest of us bipedal beings (aka normal folks). I remain speechlessly thankful for people like you, Rebecca, that provide us with the mutation needed to evolve en actual defense against that kind of bullshit, pardon my language. Hindsight may be 20-20, but you keep it accurate for me, for sure. I cheated on a narcissist that wanted me out of her life anyway, while making sure i was still the thing to put the "husband" and "dad" stickers on, so other people could still see. Thats the short version, but i dont see myself as a narcissist. Maybe if ever only when I had to turn defensive, and i think that was my way of picking what i thought was the appropriate weapon to use against her and her "its my problem I feel this way about whatever" crap, everytime i dont see in line with her. Truth is, fall in love with somebody else or not, it would have ended this way regardless. I could have left a pile of cash and fkn flowers next to the note that said "im out" she would have still put me into financial and emotional ruin. MAN i am the dumbest person i know personally.

Beware of the person who wants to go into business with you, but they aren’t financially stable and/or can’t be bothered to take decent care of themselves and their home is a disorganized and chaotic mess. Narcissists are inherently lazy and entitled. If they’re too lazy to clean up after themselves in their own home, they will also treat your business that way as well. They feel entitled to you and all of your resources and will take all the credit for your hard work. Run! Run away! Don’t sign that contract!

so spot on. 6 years ago with a female covert narc i was hanging out with all the time, i did notice she was always the one doing the stuff she accused everyone else about. wasn't really thining of it necessarily of her telling on her self. just thought of it as irony and projection but yeah. now the neighbor i mention who si a covert narc phycopath type. he never really said much of anything although he did seem to indicate several other ladies in the neighborhood were wacko, turns out now that i think about it, he is literally describing himself. although it was only 4-5 months of spending time, not that long, mostly just walking however after 2.5 months of no response before no contact. he did get a little more agressive, still passive. but in his disspaiontment he said he had been nothing but nice to me (actaully the truth is i over did him favors and that is the only reaon i even hung out was feeling obligated), he said i was being disrepectful (hmm, well let's see, texting me 5 times over a few hours pushing me to get home when i am gone, even at a funeral?? well intersting who is disrepeting who) and so forth like that. i do think he may have inadvertantly slipped some things in too while not doing eithe rof the 2 methoeds in the video. but let's just say when we were suppoed to be at a sporting event i paid good money for he had committed to me and then left me high and dry last minute , oh a string of telling on himself. A. stated he could not go becasue he suddenly got scheulded for his part time job 11am-630 pm. but yet he had me at his hosue tiel 1240pm. told on himself . B. his spouse was many states away out of town. she called that morning talking about us having fun at the tame, and i asked him why he didn't tell her he isn't going. he claimed she would be mad at his job. then!! at the game. he literally tells me to take "LOTS"of pictures and send them to HIS phone so that he can make sure he sends them to HER. however, 2 weeks prior he was telling me about a famela massuse that comes tothe house for massage thearapy altough his ife is home i think when they do come. he said something to my offhand about "happy endings" i thought he was just making jokes. but seeins as he lied to her about his wherabouts and asking someone else to help her lie. i bet that wasn't actaully a joke at all

So my ex was my 1st and last narcissistic relationship. One day we're standing at the bus stop across the street from these dirty dingy projects that I loathe. All of a sudden he comes from behind me and said in a nasty, aggressive tone...on the border line of raging and said, " What did you say to that ninja across the street"? I wasn't even facing that direction. I actually looked up and across the street to see if perhaps a guy was standing there. There was no one. I brushed him off and told him not to start no crap. He raged..started screaming and yelling saying you think I don't know you ha sex with that ninja. It was horrible and I actually tried walking away but he was raging, cursing and following me. I called the police and he went away. Now here it is a year and a half later and security in his apartment complex says he moved in a female from across the street in the very projects he was accusing me of dealing with someone that lived over there. I had never so much as crossed the street. I'm going to be honest. I discarded him...but I really deep down in my heart and soul..want to F him up!! The audacity to abuse me in that manner when he's the dirt bag f&$#er!!! I swear if I hadn't changed my ways I'd seek out a hiv infected woman and pay her to come on to him and bed him...that sorry loser $#@&!.. bleep.. bleep.. bleep 😡😡🤬

Yup my narcissist was bragging about cheating on me after 31 years of marriage with a 25 year old young lady and he is 59 years old.. First time he really admitted to this affair after I’m sure there has been many. 🤣 He said he didn’t want to “Hurt” me BUT she was much younger than me…. I asked him how much money did he pay her…. Well he couldn’t remember how much money he gave her, however he DID GIVE HER MONEY BECAUSE SHE FROM THE BEGINNING SHE DID ASK FOR MONEY… He’s a loser.

I had these experiences almost one by one . My narcissistic mate , started going on a diet , followed by criticizing me and starting arguments over nothing, just to start telling that maybe we need to just be friends . Then the phone calls stopped for 2-3 days when they were daily . New plans with work friends that he never went out with before started happening. Coming later disappearing for 3 days saying he needed to think . Then it stopped but he got very angry and non communicative. He was very careful but the truth came out he was seeing a old girlfriend from 25 years ago that was going thru a divorce. She was so fooled by him she was never admitted what happens other then they went out for dinner and drinks a few times . Accidentally text me instead to say that her heart was broken in. A million pieces by him .

My X started coming home freshly showered. Stated dressing in a whole new style…. It was so freaking obvious, he thought he was being sneaky. During our divorce i learned he’d taken 6 weeks of work vacation but Not with his family, hotel charges…. I could go on. They do think their smarter than they are. It was so obvious to me, but I did not let on that I knew. I’d play the song, “how long, has this been going on” On Repeat….😱😂😂😂. Then One day I just decided and told him I’m leaving you, we are Over! After 27 years together. It was hard, but I’ve got my life back, now! I’d lost myself completely. It was worth the fight. Yes I cannot agree more about the projecting... this is used by all people when they try to lie to you, to cheat on you, but maybe narcissists do it more times... I don't know.

So so true. It's like not always obvious either at first in the moment. Bcuz what they say the details aren't particularly overt or anything out of normal. It's not until i often reflect on past conversations between my family (Narcissistic Cult of Betrayer's) and my estranged P.A Covert Narc turned secondary psychopath to gain clarity. And it all boils down to, accusations from a narcissist are really confessions... Or they'll use almost like a benign parable to twist it oddly into a make shift confession. Example my cousin told Me a story about her grandbabies once about how her granddaughters half sibling was very jealous of her granddaughter and even mean to her at times biting her. This troubled her daughter "supposedly", and upon further investigation of this disturbing behavior she discovered that the little girl had been neglected and unwanted by her mother. Bcuz the baby wasn't enough to keep their family together or her meal ticket trapped and spellbound. So the half sibling was just seeking any attention and bad attention was better than no attention at all... And I was like whoa she's the half sibling who is envious of newest sibling and the attention she receives from her father... She slept with my ex. Betrayed me behind my back in my house it was big thing.... But ya get it.

I had something similar. I caught the girl I was dateing sending topless pics to another man. When I called her out on it she then begun the discard and smear campaign accuseing me of abuseing her and claiming I was the lier and she only sent selfies to another bloke ( like that makes it any less acceptable) I have since had to deal with a police investigation and continued assault online by her claiming I AM THE NARC and the typical I'm the victim mentality. She even claims we were never even in a relationship. Thankfully due to me storing evidence like tex messages from her during the 8 months I was with her the police saw that her story's made no sense and the investigation was closed. But AGAIN as usual she is a victim of police incompetence according to her.

My favorite reactions that I get as a thrift store supervisor: "Well, I didn't remove/switch the tag!" "Why would I steal?" "I wasn't told I needed a receipt for an exchange." "Why would I lie?" "Why does the tag still have to be attached to exchange it?" "What do you mean this tag doesn't belong to this item? How can you tell?!" "I'm never shopping here again!" (if only that were true, they almost always come back) "You can (fill in request that's against store/corporate policy). It's no big deal." Honestly, if it's no big deal why are you making a big deal out of it? Please don't involve me [the cashier(s) you asked have already done a perfectly good job of telling you why we can't]. I have more important things to do. Pay/storm out with nothing. I don't care. Just go.

So slick... after trying to convince me that "you are the smartest person I know"- then literally later that day makes arrangements for her 34 year old former bodybuilder work "friend" to get a discounted gym membership where she works a 2nd job as a fitness instructor, to "swim" (her favorite pre-teaching activity).
