NBC need to fire this journalist and her editor - or whoever was responsible for green lighting this without basic fact checking. This piece just shows that NBC are so desperate to have content about popular culture that they can’t even be bothered to do rudimentary checks of the content before publishing it. All it does is make them look even more outdated. It’s really dumb from a business perspective because people will just stay away from them and advertisers will question whether being associated with nbc online is doing their brand more harm than good. A 98% dislike rate is really something.

When I was younger my father made it abundantly clear what the thought of my hobby. He said it was a waste of time and desensitized me to violence and, basically, how I was a worse person for having played them. My ex-gf said that friends I made online weren’t real friends and that socializing over the internet wasn’t real socializing. She too thought video gaming was a waste of time. She claimed she too was a gamer, although all she ever played was the Sims 3. I defended my hobby from two people who I held very dear. What they said was patently false and I wasn’t going to stand for their slander. Their words were an affront to the hobby that I held most dear. I know that I’m not alone in this either. Many gamers are forced to defend their hobby by people who know nothing of it. By out siders and ignorant fools. We will always come to defend what we hold most dear. This video will go down as a meme about how out of touch, ignorant, truth-bending, agenda-pushing the main stream media is. So congrats on winning the densest mother f*cker award.

My take on violence in video games: When i go into a shooter such as GTA V or Overwatch or even COD, i go into the game with the mindset of practicing my skills, upping my level, helping my k/d, learning to play certain heros, earning more in-game currency. I dont go into a game just wanting to kill people and see blood.

I feel ashamed that people like this can call themselves liberals (I consider myself to be on the liberal part of the political spectrum), but actively attempt defame a group of people solely off of one example. Isn't that stereotyping?, exactly what these "politically correct" people are supposedly against? Fortunately, I didn't fall for this rhetoric and can take things for their core values. Shadow Warrior 2 has a joke which mistakes the protagonist for being a transgender? "Sorry, that is offensive to transgendered people, we can't joke about that." I take it as it is, just crass humor, but it is JUST humor nothing more and nothing less. We need to drop oversensitivity to certain topics, and actually push for a proper egalitarian standpoint, not an illusion of one.

Does Rags is gay?

I'm a person of the left, and as ironic/ass backwards as this statement will sound, I hate hatred. But NBC has just disgusted me with their lack of legitimate research, and pure blind prejudice against gamers. It is clear to me they have a prejudice against gamers, because of how they painted us. It kills me to see so many good people be accused of such a hateful, and murderous event. I'm someone who believes all people should be free to be who they want to be. As much as it pains me to say it thougj, with my belief system, I should not be allowed to deny neo nazis, terrorists, and other hate groups from doing what they do. However, when it is harmful to not only the movement, but innocent lives, or even not so innocent lives, it becomes cannibalistic towards humans as a whole. This post alone, I feel, should be evidence enough that not all gamers are racist, hateful, or anything like that. It hurts when people use gaming, a passtime I utilize to relieve stress, anger, sadness, or any other negative emotion I am experiencing, as thing to lay blame on for other's actions. It hurts me and my ideals/beliefs. I'd rather die than submit to the idea that just by getting rid of my negative emotions, via a device I use for coping, that I am a homophobic, racist, neo nazi/terrorist hateful being that "deserves" to be looped in with people who take these beliefs, and create actions with them, that result in the death of others. Especially because I'm gay, and quite a few black/African American (whichever you prefer) people, that I have met in my life, have turned out to be really cool people, most being really quite nice, and fun to be around. And while I cannot bring myself to be attracted to women, I must say I have enjoyed their company as friends, and allies to me. I want NBC to see what i have said here, I wish I could explain to the masses how wrong they are when they say video games are evil, and all that junk. I want to tell people that video games have helped me find love, friends, and even some friendly rivalries. Along with the opposites. I love gaming because of what it has given me, a way to face reality without having to face it head on. I'm scared of my future, and yern for my past, but at the same time, I know I'll persevere because I have gaming to lean on for relief from stress, and anger. I wish people could understand that. Sadly, I don't see it happening anytime soon.

What's funny at 22:13 is that that's actually the prologue of Black Ops III, which if I remember only had split-screen and private co-op and not a co-op matchmaking.
