I'm an Army veteran that has a VA 100% P&T rating for PTSD. The SSA took 8 months to approve my SSDI request. And that was with no outside doctor visit for consultation. So, when she says that the SSA expedites its process for veterans, she is not kidding.

I'm a Navy Vet who is 100% P&T for PTSD. I've been told your service connection disabilities does not mean you have a sure shot at SSDI. That's why I have not tried to file. I haven't worked in over 4 years. Not sure that will help or hurt me. My plan is to get a Disability lawyer and a Vocational assessment from a Vocational expert/counselor. I go to all of my appointments with the VA.That includes medical doctors and psychiatry staff. Their documentation is spot on. I read all my medical/psych notes. It's good to hear veteran's cases were commonly expedited, unlike the civilian cases. I don't think I could wait a year or more for the results, even 8 months is too much. My anxiety and my anger would do me in. Possibly, sabotaging my cases. This video was very educational ,as well as, the comments. The video has encouraged me to apply for SSDI. Thank you.

:40 so another words I will at least know that I get rejected faster then others. Well that’s a plus I suppose haha. GREAT video. I’m a 35 year old veteran who is rated at 93% but paid as a 100% disabled level based on TDIU (Total Disability based on Individual Unemployability) I am “TDIU P&T” which is a fancy way of saying the VA acknowledges that I’m disabled to the point where I cannot get or maintain what they refer to as “ substantially gainful employment” so they pay me at the exact same level as someone who’s what called “Schedular” 100% and they also acknowledge that there is likely no chance of improvement of my disabilities so they deem it P&T (Permanent and Total) which basically just means I don’t have to worry about getting a reduction of my rating or having to attend anymore C&P exams. It’s nice to have because otherwise you always run the risk of being reevaluated and reduced. Now the only way that would happen is if they found “fraud” which they wouldn’t because there’s nothing fraudulent about my disabilities. However Knowing though how tough it is to get SSDI I wouldn’t even bother getting my hopes up by trying for it. I believe your work history factors in and I had several jobs but I also had long periods of unemployment because of my ongoing physical problems that resulted in my medical discharge from the military. In fact I’ve NEVER even collected unemployment. Thank you for the information ma’am!!

It seems ridiculous that you can be 100% P&T from one government agency, but it doesn’t automatically eligible for SSDI which we’ve PAID INTO!!!!!!!!! And they wonder why everyone hates the stupidity of the government and all their waste. I’m 100% P&T and have been going through the stupid SSDI process for over a year.

If you haven't worked in 5 years, 100% P&T, you'll be denied. I thought at 55 years old, I could finally get SSDI -- nope. Only took Social Security two weeks to send me (another) denial letter. It doesn't make sense when you worked 30+ years, 20+ years in the service, and PAID into it for 30+ years, and nothing. It is our money. If I had all that SS money I paid into with a modest 5% interest rate over the years, it would be in the millions. But, $0. Robbery.

Ill never understand how those who never even put on a military uniform apply and get SSDI with no problem! But those of us who did serve and are disabled with injuries from our military service get rejected!! WTF!

SS used the “VA records and documentation and Dr.s reviews” for it’s case review. This Slingshotted the case quickly and Surpassed the waiting process of normal civilians.

Just started SSDI process at 39 years old at a 100% Permanent and Total disabled veteran. She does say it's harder as a younger veteran, but it really doesn't matter because it depends on the severity of your disabilities. I've got about 20 disabilities that will just get worse or stay the same, whether they be from physical or mental things.

I was 100 % Disabled from Military with Major Depression Disorder 70% , Obstructive Sleep Apnea 50% , and the Social Security ran me for 7 Years priority I'm afraid not. They ran me for 7 years so that they could reduce the amount of Social Security I'd receive . And I was even denied my Medicare Benefits , Thank You for Your Service , Right !

Was told by many lawyers VA and SSA do not work together especially when it came to records, SSA would rather have an outside doctor instead up to a years worth of records. To be fair they may have been lazy I was already reaching the Federal appeals level so there was that

Your going to need an attorney. I applied 3 times as 100% p&t missing my right leg near the hip. Only got my ssdi after I got a lawyer.
