One of the best explanations for adapting vintage lenses to mirrorless I've seen, well done. Atm I just have the FD 50mm f/3.5 for that mount and use it on the G80. Mine is the nFd version. I attach a Raynox 250 magnifier on the end when I need 1:1 [I believe it goes just over 1:1 with this attachment, with no noticeable drop in IQ] - I have also Minolta MD and M42 adapters. SO much variation out there, just do the research and try fine decent copies with no fungus or haze. It's great fun adapting these old classics and IMO improves your photography skills, as you're not over relying on AF, you just need to take your time a little more.

Bought the Roxsen Speedbooster today with the FD 28/2.8 for my G70. My grandfather gifted me his old 2x teleconverter and a 400mm/5.6 I think, I'm quite excited to use it!

Nice! 400mm F5.6 with teleconverter is insane! Get a good tripod and the 10$ adapter :)

@@dutchvideoshooter Yeah I saw your Video on the 300mm/f4 with the teleconverter and the 10 bucks adapter, I'm very excited xD Another question: Is there an insider tip for an absolute low budget fast wide angle lens for micro four thirds? I'd like take photos of the stars and my kit lens at 14mm/3.5 isnt the best lens for this problem ... thx

Heb zelf een tijdje terug een EF-m4/3 speedbooster gekocht. Gebruik hem voor mijn Pentax lenzen en mijn M42 Vivitar 28mm. Lekker om mee over rommelmarkten te struinen.

Great information here. Thank you for making your video's. I have a question. I've got a Helios 2/58 that I've adapted to my OMD via an m42 to m43 straight adapter. I'm a bit disappointed that I'm not getting as much swirly bokeh as I thought I would. I've decided to purchase a focal reducer/speed booster to open up the FOV, and add speed to maximize the swirl. I really like how you use an FD to m43 speed booster with the m42 to FD adapter to get the added flexibility of using different mounts on the same reducer. My question(2) is what other common system lenses can you adapt to your FD to m43 booster? Which lenses will not adapt? Thanks again for the video Cheers JP

Thank you for the video and information. I read on the description of these focal reducers from China not working with old FD lens with silver ring/breach lock, isn't that true?

I use my FD lenses on my crop EOS cameras all the time, took me a while to get the hang of it but once I did they seem to work almost as well as my newer EF and EFS lenses. of course it is all manual focus and f stop, it light is not great I focus wide open than stop it down. I use Fotasy and Fotodiox adapters. My FD lenses still look new, got most of them back in the early 70s.

The breech lock lens type works well on this roxsen speed booster? On their website says that only works fine with the new FD mount. Thanks!

First time ever posting a comment on YT. Thanks for this info. I have been following closely your GH5 setup with the FD lenses. I am curious to know how do you handle the "circular glow" that the roxsen pixco focal reducer produces, especially when shooting more towards the light (where it is more evident). I get a great image when shooting in a darker environment but I cannot use it during the daytime or where there's a light setup because that blue tint dot is visible and it doesn't matter on what aperture I set the lens. Have you had this problem? how did you deal with it? How to correct it?

Hi welcome! With my Roxsen Camdiox i never have Blue dot effect. Even when shooting into the sun. So no experience with that.

I have a GH5 and I really want to speedboost vintage lenses. I have a Helios 44M and I'm looking forward to buy more vintage lenses of various mounts. If I get the Viltrox EF-M2 (EF to M4/3) I won't be able to adapt FD lenses because of Flange Distance, what about other vintage lenses? *Which is the best speedbooster that will allow me to adapt any lens mount? (by using the speedbooster + cheap adapters together) Should I get Nikon-Micro4/3, or Sony E, or some other?* Hope you respond. Great video :)

Greetings! So is it better for me to convert my fd lens to ef mount to use with viltrox speedbooster on my gh5 and will this give me an extra stop of light? I have two fd lenses that I want to use with my viltrox on my gh5 that will allow extra stop of light. Which will give extra light and work better, the focal reducer or convert to ef and use speedbooster?
