Crazy how this is the only video about this. I’m getting mine pretty soon and I could tell it definitely needed it for when my csl dd come in. Lol I’m getting some thick steel and I may find a way to reinforce the wheel mount as well

Have you done it and how? Is it working?

If you want the stability of metal brackets, you can also place a 5 to 6 inch metal plate right under the steering wheel to stop the wobble and still have the ability to fold the unit and put it away for storage. For aesthetics you can paint the plate black and put some racing stickers on it as well :D

You mean crossbrace from side to side?

GT Omega now offers the "CLASSIC Wheel Stand Support Bars" to officially "reduce any wobbling or shaking while you’re racing and stabilise your CLASSIC wheel stand". A bit on the pricey side, but using these, you keep the adjustability of the stand.

An update for anyone checking this. GT Omega just released a reinforcement for the ART you can screw onto the 2 holes next to the wheel mount. I'm thinking of doing that which can help with the wobble. The wobble for me isn't too extreme, it's just shakes a bit and it hurts my eyes if i'm doing something particularly intense

does it work with the classic stand and if you already got it is it good?

Getting my wheel stand classic today. If the wobble occurs and annoys me I'll try the diagonal Cross brace. That might keep the ability to adjust things.

A cross brace may help with any twisting but not the side to side movement. I think what this guy has done in the vid should help a lot with that. The movement doesn't really bother me with my classic wheel stand only the build quality - the height/reach adjustable tubing for the wheel mount isn't even parallel with the rest of the frame so the steering wheel is always at an odd angle no matter how I position it. Upgrading to a simlab in the new year!

Hey man, don’t know if you’re going to read this. I want to do something similar to my GT Omega wheel stand. If you are able to provide the dimensions of the piece of steel you used it would make this job a lot easier. Thanks for the video!

how have you managed to tilt the seat backwards? for me the holes for the seat mount have to be the same height because its a square. Is it because of the aftermarket seat mounts or something?
@Eman-mf8im Жыл бұрын
Hey not sure if you figured it out already but you need to face the raised edges of the plates away from each other so they don’t get stuck.
@luuify Жыл бұрын
@@Eman-mf8im I never thought of that, thanks a lot!

What kind of tool/drill bit did you use?
@Michal_S0L2 жыл бұрын
A drill? and the proper sized bit for the bolt, I welded the top of mine so I can still adjust the length
