RyanF9, I’m a lady motorcyclist travelling around Southern Africa (DR650). It’s 46°C in the Karoo presently. I finally managed to find a little wifi; your video came up. Obviously watching it immediately was prioritised before texting friends or family to update my safety/location. Thank you to you and your team for consistently creating such wonderfully entertaining and educational things. Out here alone in this parched, burning landscape you help remind me why I’m doing this (I note your winter clothes with envy).

But personally I would still prefer an electric kit for the easy instalation and more everyday useability. Using more than the specified amount actually decreases the effectiveness of the lock tite. While our modern world is full of misinformation, it is seldom found on the label of automotive chemicals.

On a side note, I just got a new service manual for my '75 TC185, and snow should be melting outside in a month or two. Once that snow drift in front of the garage clears, I can do some last repairs to have the thing worthy of a few hundred miles long trip.

My old sportcheck brand downhill ironhorse served as winter transport to get across st.johns Newfoundland. This kit allowed me to do that faster than the average motorist. . . As I blatantly passed red lights and four way stopps swiftly in the background. When it came to the chain guard. I was limited In tools. Used my Gerber to fold the edge into the main cover. Worked really good, and no sharp edges! Keep at it RF9! great way to build fundamental knowledge. Also...you can just mount the exhaust and start the bike on a hill, run it till it's hot and then you can bend the exhaust while it's attached;)

Its not that hard. Most problems regard legalities (dont care, small town) and making the "universal" parts fit your bike. Nothing some cutting and bending cant fix. "Like Suarez they manage to bite consistently" LOL . This is seriously the best channel of any. I have watched all but about 10 videos I will have them all watched in the next week or so. I am not sure how many videos that is for just this channel but it is a lot.

The motorized bicycle kit: best damn gateway drug ever created. Not just into motorcycles either, you have to do it yourself so it's a killer way for a young person to get acquainted with their tools. Giggety

Really beautiful video, I just bought the engine and I had a doubt: what type of fuel is the engine powered? simple petrol or 2/3% mixture? Thank you very much indeed!
@BasedMan
@BasedMan 2 жыл бұрын
All 2 strokes use oil mixture with their petrol. Otherwise you run without oil and destroy the engine. Check what oil ratio you should use for your particular engine, or engine size. (And oil type) goes in the same tank as fuel does.
@iszlaimatyasjeno1301
@iszlaimatyasjeno1301 2 жыл бұрын
The manual that comes with these engines requests 16:1 (fuel:oil) for break in and 20:1 after that...it is very oil rich so most of the motorized bike riders use 32:1 and some are very offended when they see a statement like this...they ride 40:1.

Fun! I'm pushing 70 and more of a scooter guy now. They have a place to stuff my jacket, book, lunch, etc. I've had many motorcycles and I had a Honda MB5 back in the 80's, which I should have kept. I have always liked small motorcycles. These build it yourself ones are really appealing.

Love the build. I have to customize all my parts since I am trying to put it on a cannandale 8 bike. I find myself struggling since I have disc brakes on front and back. Do you have any tips on installing sprocket to rear tire while still using the disc brakes?
@flyingsky1559

Either a spacer if you have the room, or a special part which has the sprocket and disc brake as one if you don't.

Is it worth it? I just want a little fun project and have fun with an 2stroke bycicle
@beyondfossil
@beyondfossil 4 жыл бұрын
Probably not. It will be maintenance and tuning hell to get it to run consistently. If you're in an urban area, the entire block and a half will easily hear you since the 2-stroke engine will be louder than a chain saw at full RPM. Also the emissions would be foul with carcinogenic vaporized hydrocarbons spewing out like Benzene, Formaldehyde, and Acrolein. Don't forget these lovely compounds NOx and CO too. These compounds just love to get in to you and party with your cells. You'd be a walking/riding environment mini-disaster to those around you. An assault on ears and noses especially those in your carcinogenic wake.

LMAO! I've just recently become a subscriber and I love some of the fantastic tips and great products you showcase, but this particular video had me in stitches!. At almost 50yrs old, and a "Jack of all trades/ Master of none" kinda guy, I can totally relate to all the various modifications/hacks that are needed for what's sold online as a universal, anyone can install, diy project. For guys like you and I, it's not that big a deal in most cases, but unfortunately for others it means needing tools and ingenuity that they may not have experience with. Great video, and thanks for the laugh.

I am working on one of these built as a board track racer. Dumpster 26" paperboy frame. I built the wheels with Rynolite rims and Sturmey drum hubs 90mm/front-70mm rear. rear sets from Amazon(no pedals), springer fork, I tabbed the frame the fit the motor rather than use the El-Cheapo clamps. Should be fun if every finished.
