Those balance carts have been around since Moby Dick was a minnow. They had one very similar to that at a shop I worked at when in my teen years ago it sat in the corner because it was a more trouble us than it was worth especially if the lot where you were changing tires at was not billiard table smooth and or you didn’t have a lot of room to work

not really, it's only worth using in good ground situations, not out in the middle of nowhere where most tire changing happens. Great for shops though.

@@gullreefclub We made one with rubber mower type tires when ours kept getting stuck. Looked rickity as all fuck but it conquered anything. Real nice in the snow too.

Who ever designed it is pointless it just slows you down and get in the way if you need to use the cart then should you really be changing the tyres

Those wheels are so dangerous. Knew young fellow who almost lost a leg when the ring came loose. Inflation should be done with a cage

a good demo of what not to do fancy tool to hold an impact gun, same size i just hold with my hands....but no proper jack stand or inflation cage?. the wood block is end grain up, and will just split if the jack fails. and leaning over a tire while inflating? buddies gonna have a split rim blow and take of his head one of these days

Oh my God, inflating those split rims is so dangerous without a cage. I saw a photo of one unlucky mechanics outline on the ceiling after one split ring let go!

Good thing he left that one nut on the wheel when taking it off, it would have slid off and landed on his toes. That would ruin your day really fast. I like the dolly thing the impact is mounted to, those impact guns are heavy and can break your wrist.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with a locking split ring wheel. They are not the split rim wheel that everybody is so afraid of and they only got there bad reputation because of one bad wheel design and people who we not smart enough or to cheap to look at a severely rusted rim and not have the common sense god gave a rock to think hey that rim is really rusty maybe I should throw that piece of junk into the scrap pile or dumpster and get a replacement rim

Plus you'll find skilled guys like that in every neighborhood with unique skills set with experience of decades Plus one of our relatives (the one man) just got into this in his late teens now they are building their own truck from scratch hand made. Now the they a have very huge business and a transportation company with trucks and he's created the job for his whole circle + multiple joint family
