I took out my front wheel hub on my 2007 Citroen C4 (some models of Peugeot 307 and Citroen C4 share the same steering, suspension and brake components). This video has helped me immensely. One thing I will note is that the caliper bracket bolts are T55 instead of T50, but everything else here is just spot on.

Yep, T55 for me too. Also the track rod end nut was 15mm and not 17mm although it may have been aftermarket.

Wheel nuts are the most important in my opinion, if you're at a tyre shop and they don't do this, I wouldn't come back.

The tutorial is good but when the torque wrench clicks, stop fastening, do not pull over because the torque will be much higher. The click shows when it reaches the specified torque. I have seen this in many autodoc videos that the mechanic keeps fastening the bolt after the click.

Good video despite the use of existing gleaming new parts on an not-new car! *A word of warning though* . Unlike me, make sure you fit the new bearing with the black ABS ring to the inside of the hub for the sensor to monitor. Guess who had to buy a second new bearing and disassemble & refit everything after the ABS/ESP lights came on? 🙄

On my Citroen C4 the opening in the retaining ring has to be at the right position for the abs sensor to clear it. Got faulty abs light and when i rotated the ring the sensor seats properly and everything worked well

I’m having issues with the abs ring I’ve replaced all sensors so assume it has to be the ring I thought I had to replace the whole knuckle assembly good to know it’s built into the bearing 🙈 Speedo error below 30kmh jumps around and abs kicking in for no reason at slow speeds

Hi! I'm going to change my front bearing next week. Thank you for the informative video! But please explain why the mechanic sets back a wheel bolt (on 59sec in the video) while working. How is this one in any use? Thank you!

In general, the replacement will be similar, the only thing that may be slightly different in the design features of your car. More accurate information can be obtained in the technical documentation for the car or by contacting the service.

It's a well made video, but I find it quite disturbing that the video displays other torque wrench setting values than the Haynes Owner Workshop Manual. T.ex. for the driveshaft retaining nut the video displays 195Nm, while Haynes says 325Nm, that's a pretty big difference...
@autodocuk
@autodocuk Жыл бұрын
Yes, you are right the correct torque is 280 Nm, it will be useful for us. Thank you for your consideration.

This seems like a good video but what is the point of having a torque wrench if you’re just going to over tighten anywayy?

@@damiann4734 The opening is more to the left first (counterclockwise). If I remember correct I put it in the middle of the gap, same as they did, first. Then I got to move it 'cause ABS-error 😸😸
