Hey, I'm Bubble Tea Kristin! In today's video I will show you How to Cook Mini Tapioca Pearls at Home, also known as Tiny Boba or Little Black Balls. 🧋

Remember that the larger the pearl, the more cooking time it will need.
(for Long Cooking Type - not Quick Cooking Type)
Directions:
❤️ 4 Cups Boiling Water (in a pot on the stove or a rice cooker)
❤️ 1/2 Cup Restaurant Quality MINI Tapioca Pearls
❤️ Cook for 15-minutes - stirring halfway through
❤️ Turn off the heat completely and allow everything to rest for an additional 7-minutes.
❤️ Rinse it for 1 minute in a thin sieve with cold water until the water runs clear.
❤️ Let the Pearls soak up the sweet solution about 10-minutes before adding them to you drink.
❤️ Enjoy!

Hi, in Italy tapioca pearls are coming white and usually small ones like those in the video. Have I to add sugar to boiling water meanwhile cooking or sugar syrup at the rest time is enough? Tnx for sharing your knowledge and talent 😊

Hello Francesca, So, I think the type of tapioca pearls you are referring to are the type that you would be putting into tapioca pudding or desserts? You may want to check the ingredients for those because if there's different ingredients used in them, the cooking time would be different. With that being said, if this cooking method that I am doing for boba tapioca pearls for bubble tea is working for you and the desired results come out good for your type of pearls, then that's awesome.👍🏼 And if that's the case, then you don't need to put sugar in while you're cooking. That probably won't yield a noticable result and you may just waste sugar that way. I find that putting it in as a sweet solution after it's done cooking will make them really sweet, as long as you leave them to sit for 15 minutes.

Can you drink these mini tapioca pearls with ordinary sized straws instead of using the large boba straws? And can u make these mini tapioca pearls at home?

Hey Joseph, You could drink them with a smaller straw, what we call a 'smoothie size straw', but I don't think they'll go up small drinking straw... Atleast not the size type I had on hand. You can make them at home... But it will be alot of work to make them so so small and round... Usually for making boba pearls at home it normally takes a long time, and making them 1/8 of the size would take forever 😂🤣 But it's def doable 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 I will have a video on how to make tapioca pearls at home from scratch coming out soon... So you'll do the same thing but just make them incredibly smaller. 😇

Hi Mavis, If you are using restaurant quality, long cook type for a boba shop, and you follow my recipe timing and technique, and all the steps for cooking, then they'll be ready to eat. We can’t purchase any boba right now in US, everything is Out of stock. Is the UK having the same issue?

There's definitely online websites that sell Grade-A boba pearls, but maybe in limited quantities 😂 Have you tried Nuts.com!? They're usually always in stock 😉 UK is having issues too. There's only one supplier in the UK now who has stock, and they're only selling to previous consistent customers; no one new. The world of Bubble Tea stands still 😬

Honestly, I'm not super thin 😂 But I think I just have good genes from my dad's side. I've been the same size since 2004 and can generally eat anything 🤦🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️ But everything in Moderation I always say 🥰
