you don't get into component level but do you have any idea on schematics for a power button? It's attached to the keyboard but there is usually some physical pins to turn it on if they're shorted. Any ideas?

Nice video well done! Question - which side is the GPU and which is the CPU?
@stevenv21902 жыл бұрын
10:58 - the right side, it has four chiplets around it for the 2GB video RAM. for a 4k panel this runs hotter than my desktop with a 3090 (barely gets to 60c) not like the laptop - it got to 81c - hot when running FurMark

Made it all the way to the end only to find out that the keyboard can't be removed. Major bummer. After 6 years of heavy use, my laptop's case is starting to fall apart. Was looking to rip all the guts out of it and transplant it into a shiny new case, since those appear to be relatively inexpensive. Probably going to have to find an alternative solution now

I've just replaced my keyboard on UX501V - used a heat gun and some pliers to break off all the plastic rivets (try to leave some meat on them), and then used two-part plastic epoxy to replace all the rivets, plus some weight to secure them while everything cured. It's possible, but if i was to go back in time I would have bought a pre-assembled bottom plastic part instead of trying to fix the one I have already.

@@ArcaneSpell I didn't even bother re riveting. just put it all back together and the new keyboard works. had to cut off one of the posts that was getting in the way of the keyboard ribbon connector. also I did not need to remove the heat sink or fans to get the mother board out. that saved time and effort.
