I watch all your videos and since doing so I have cut out a lot of carbs such as rice, chips, and snacking. It was hard to do at first but now I simply don’t miss any of those things. Unless I go to Mexican restaurant and I always have chips with guacamole! Thanks Autumn for all your work.

Hello! I love your videos. I find them helpful, i use much of the information to help my very hungry T1D husband with snack choices and filling meals. I am now using your videos to assist myself with my weight loss journey. I was wondering if you could do a videogeared toward those of us who work non traditional schedules. I work night shift and lots of overtime in my health care job. I know being a night shift worker affects metabolism, circadian rhythm, etc. Any suggestions to help combat those factors? Suggested meal timing? Any knowledge you can share would be awesome! Thank you!

Taking a walk with the dog 15-20 minutes after dinner has really helped me with the insulin spikes post dinner. I have been consuming ACV closer to bed than before a meal. What are the benefits of taking it before bed vs. the more acid it gives before a meal? Thanks for all of your science backed information, Autumn. You have been very helpful. 😊
@AutumnBates
@AutumnBates Жыл бұрын
I haven't seen studies specifically on taking it before bed, just before or with a meal. But the benefits appear to come from slowing the starch digestion, so I would imagine it would be more ideal to take with/before the meal to reap the best benefits. But again, I haven't seen any studies on taking it before bed, so not 100% sure on this one!

Thanks for everything you do April. My question is what exercise can I do I have both of my rotator cuffs torn and the doctor says surgery is required. But at this present time I absolutely refuse to have any surgery. My doctor says just walk or jug on indoor Tracks. Even using a treadmill gives me pain. Is any suggestions.❤
@AutumnBates
@AutumnBates Жыл бұрын
I would ask your doctor about body weight lower body workouts (ex: air squats, walking lunges, etc). The lower body actually has more muscle mass than the upper body and can therefore typically be better when it comes to helping absorb glucose after a meal.

So once you have achieved a wellness goal are you saying that I can bung in a cheeky white or sweet potato in the slow cooker with the meat and veg (casserole/stew) ? How about Rice? Pasta? Bread? Types? Amounts? My entire diet revolved around carbs. Not all bad. But like fruits, veggies, pasta, brown rice, cous cous etc. I miss them & I have a feeling they miss me too 😁

I think that the sodium in LMNT would be bad for people with high blood pressure. Do you have a recommendation for an electrolyte replacement that doesn’t have so much sodium? Thank you?
@magnoliam4159
@magnoliam4159 Жыл бұрын
I agree. I have high BP and I’m working on getting my sodium intake way down. I’m aiming for 1500-2000mg a DAY. So that packet is right out. I think she means the LMNT is good if you’re on a really low carb/Whole Foods diet already, have been consistent, and if you work out a lot. Then you may not be getting enough. In my case I think I’m still getting plenty of sodium even though I’m trying to cut back and I don’t think I need any LMNT or extra salt. I’m sure with high BP you don’t either!! Just focus on diet and exercise and if you ever get to the point where you’re losing weight and lowering meds then look into it. For now I think getting enough potassium is what’s important for high BP. Coconut water, avocado, leafy greens, and certain nuts/seeds are good sources
@juneduran7015
@juneduran7015 Жыл бұрын
@@magnoliam4159 Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I took the nutritional facts to my cardiologists, and she said no way should I drink it. I do want to replace electrolytes though so I’m searching for something else. Hopefully Autumn has an idea.
@AutumnBates
@AutumnBates Жыл бұрын
Well said! Those with high BP tend to have an issue with retaining sodium and water anyway (often times associated with a high insulin level causing kidneys to retain sodium/water). But definitely make sure you check in with your doctor because blood pressure can sometimes change quite rapidly when incorporating IF, whole foods and/or lower carb eating.
@magnoliam4159
@magnoliam4159 Жыл бұрын
@@AutumnBates that is good to know!! I’ve never heard that before but it makes sense. I’ve tried low sodium diet and it seems like nothing really changes, it just doesn’t get worse, but doing low carb with it actually seems to help it get a little lower. I haven’t tried IF yet, but if you say it helps with blood pressure I’m in

???? I have done 16/8 fasting for a month and have lost 5 pounds so far, but I have been plateau for 2 weeks or so. I have cut out glycemic spiking foods. I eat egg scramble for breakfast, protein shake for lunch, and meat and veggies for dinner. I drink LMNT. I drink ACV sipper and keto coffee exactly how you make yours. I have been watching all your videos and I feel that I'm doing all the things, but my results have stalled. What else should I be doing to see results? I am 5'3" and currently 145 pounds. My goal is 125. So 20 pounds to go. Help 😊????

@ClaudiaCanu

My 2 cents: Eat enough protein in each meal together with lots of fiber-rich foods, especially for breakfast. This is a very generic recommendation but everyone's body is different and nutrition work best when it's personalized.

I need to move after eating, even yoga helps though they say do not right after eating. But then again they don't advise keto. So much of the midwest diet is get full, not feel better or get energy. I am not fitting in.

How long must I be fasting before I see that I am in ketosis?
@AutumnBates
@AutumnBates Жыл бұрын
The length of fast depends on how metabolically flexible you are. In the beginning, it could take a longer fast (ex: 16-18 hours) or it might even take a few weeks to see the shift. But once metabolically flexible, even fairly shorter fasts can kick folks into nutritional ketosis.

It's the fat but also the fiber in avocado that helps. I personally eat a hard-boiled egg before an overnight oats and a CGM showed that that avoids a spike from the oats.

My take on it is that even when eating for optimum health and incorporating a lifestyle maximizing that, we’re only human. Needs change, depending on how much physical exertion, or if an illness or pregnancy or major event takes place - it’s about making adjustments where needed. It seems the fitter you are, the more in tune you are with your body. Autumn has a very smart, sensible approach and sustainable strategy.
