After 50 years of struggling with conflicting advice, sugar and processed food dependency (guided and encouraged by unscrupulous government agencies, lobbyists, and crafty advertisers), I finally found the sustainable combination of wellness and fitness with CLEAN fasting and REAL food, plus daily morning walks, consistent sleep routines (thanks to post menopause hormone therapy which replaced my nonexistent estrogen), and at least 20 minutes of strength training 3 times a week. And for the ability to do these, I thank the Lord God every day. All this has helped me mentally, emotionally, physically. My hope is that younger people, especially my daughters, will find their way sooner than I did. I feel better than I did in my 20's and 30's when I was controlled by diet obsession and self loathing. I will NEVER diet again AND I will never let sugar be the boss of me. Jesus modeled fasting, but I never paid attention. Intermittent fasting broke the hold that junk food had on my life. It's still present, but in a much smaller, more manageable way. Fasting is freedom from the overwhelm.

Love this video/subject. After yoyodieting all my life, starting at 15 and I am 62, I have damaged my metabolism so much. After losing 60 pounds for good following your advice and program I am now reversing 30 years of increases in my thyroid pill dosage. For me that’s a sign that my metabolism is getting better! As per a recent post (IG) I have gone from .125mg down to .088mg, after another blood test in 8 weeks I might go down even more, we’ll see! Thank you Autumn for this very informative and important video. 👍❤️🇨🇦

The protein intake I need is the reason I'm gonna switch my 16:8 to 14:10 IF because I work out at least 1h/day 5 times a week... And I'm definitely not eating enough... I usually can't have dinner before 6-6:30pm. So my fasting window usually starts around 7:30pm... And I can't manage to get all my proteins and my calories in between 11:30 and 7:30pm...

I don’t often get coffee out, but next time I do I want to ask for an unsweetened latte with almond milk and a splash of heavy cream. I am going to bring my English toffee liquid stevia sweetener for it (not all places have sugar free syrups, or if they do, they don’t always have the best ingredients).

It depends on the individual. LDL isn't necessarily the end all lab to consider. There's some great information out there regarding the importance of triglycerides, LDL-P (not the standard LDL-C), HDL, A1C and blood pressure. I touch on this in one of my videos here: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/peB9bL2r0ZzHgnU.html

I'm sure I damaged my metabolism with IF - I lost 30lbs in about 10 months and felt great for about a year and then it slowly started to pile back on. It's been more than 2 years now since I gained it all back and I have not been able to lose any weight since. I believe ignoring protein and strength training is what did the damage. I'm hoping I can repair the damage with powerlifting, walking and increased protein intake but it's been about 2 months of no progress which is disheartening.

Hello Autumn ! How does one know they have a slow metabolism ? Every time I watch videos about slow metabolism, they don’t really tell how do you know for sure your metabolism is slow.
@AutumnBates
@AutumnBates 11 ай бұрын
Hi! Without having your metabolism actually measured in a lab, there's no specific way to tell. However, you can usually get signs of a slower metabolism if you know you have a history of dieting/over-exercise and you currently find it difficult to achieve a weight loss goal.

I've been following your channel for a while now and managed to implement many things. Now I feel like I reached a plateau and don't know how to proceed :( I'm 31, 130 lbs and 5.3. I do IF, eat 80-100g of protein every day. I do 10-12k steps a day. My sleep is excellent (8h daily and I feel rested). I try to keep a caloric deficit, my maintenance is 1800kcal, so I eat around 1500kcal. Nothing changes... Is it me or is there really nothing happening to my body? I'm losing hope, I would like to drop a few pounds more.

I would agree here - especially because of the statement "fasting most of the day". It's already fairly difficult to get enough protein in. It might be time to reassess the fast length and whether or not you need to increase the eating window to allow for more protein.
