Күн бұрын

Hello folks, this week we're fishing for those wonderful freshwater carp. Normally, we fish for carp from shore, however this time we have a little 'car topper' aluminum boat which we take out to the middle of a creek where we show you how to fish for carp.
We bait up with canned corn and use bobbers to accomplish a special trick while fishing for carp.
We hope this how to fish for carp video helps you out on your next carp fishing trip!
As always, good luck, and good fishin'!
Ivo

Hi Joshua - great to hear from you in Kentucky and glad you are enjoying our videos :) You are right with your feedback - this particular location only has smaller carp, otherwise, we would be rigged up much heavier. The carp were smaller, but we did have a great day on the water. We do have some other videos where we catch bigger carp, but not huge ones - were hoping this year to post more footage :)

Thanks for tuning in and congrats on your bass raider! Carp are very common in the USA and you should be able to find them in most creeks. Creeks are one of your best areas to find carp. However, they can also be found in lakes and rivers as well :)

This is so awesome! I grew up down the street from this exact spot. But I had never fished that creek until just a few weeks ago. There is some beautiful carp in there! Bullheads too. My brother, my girlfriend and I have all landed some real nice commons from shore. There's also a trail that wraps around the pond providing plenty of awesome boatless angling opportunities. Always love your videos! 🎣👍👌

Great video. This reminds me of the fun times growning up in wheeling wv where my grade school friends and I would spend hours fishing for carp, drums, and channel cats on the Ohio river and creeks that fed the river. It was good times. Thanks for bringing back the memories.

Ivo, Antonio, and Thundermist Lures, thank you for making this video!! It helped me figure out that the carp in my local pond hang out in the shade during the day and I was able to target them. I ordered two packets of the t-turns and caught a 25 lb grass carp on sweet corn today! Thank You!

Nice to hear from you and thanks for the condolences (much predicator) We have heard some people say that corn is legal and otters say that it is illegal to use in California. Best to check the CA regulations. If you can not use corn, then you can use dough balls - you can even use wonder bread and just roll the white bread into small balls, the size of a marble. Good luck and thanks for tuning in :)

Great to hear form you in MN - plenty of great fishing there! You can catch crappies in both the fall and winter (ice fishing) but the ideal time is really the spring. Once the ice melts and April rolls in, the crappie fishing is great. As for best time in the fall or winter, the morning bite is best but they will bite all day long :)

Hi Wu - great to hear from you in Scotland and our weather is starting to get nice now and the fishing is getting better as well :) For sea trout, try using a jig head rigged with a white twister tail - we have a video on our channel catching weakfish, which is very similar to a sea trout. As for the perch, we like to use live minnows or jigging spoons (like the boa jig'r rigged with a minnow) Good luck - hope you have many great days on the water!

Hi Murray - the corn should work, but if not, give dough balls a try. You can use the white part of wonder bread and just roll a bit of it into a ball about the size of a nickel. Try chumming with corn and using the dough ball as bait. It is very important that your bait is resting on the bottom. Good luck - hope your next trip is a great one!

Hi John - all you need in a situation like this is a very light sinker 3/8 oz or 1/2 oz is plenty. Corn is a great bait to use but you can also use dough balls for those grass carp - good luck:)

Hi Liam - those are some huge carp. You can catch them with 10 kg line, as long as you have a large spool of line and a good drag system, but suggest using 15 - 20 kg line. You can use braided line as your main source of line and then a fluorocarbon leader - good luck, that would be awesome fishing :)

Hi Ryan - in the spring, the carp will splash around close to the surface while spawning & that's an easy way to find out if they are in your pond or not - but chances are that they are in there so give it a try and start on the vegetation side :)

Chumming with corn is excellent for attracting and holding carp in your area, so I usually chum. :) Even on a wider stretch of river, find an area that you want to fish and if you can find an area where the current breaks or is a bit slack, chum and fish that area - good luck :)

In this case, it's best to pull right away once the bobber goes down as you know for certain the carp has the bait and you can see it easily as the bobber typically goes down and stays down. With the loose line method, you can also pull right away but typically, by the time you go to pull, the line will be on its second twitch :)
