How To Fix A Dremel Tool | Dremel 3000 Detached Winding

My Dremel 3000 rotary tool stopped working. I suspected that the winding got detached where it connects to the power terminal which seems to be a frequent problem. In this video, I take apart the Dremel 3000 rotary tool, fix the issue, and put everything back together.

Two of my copper wires were severed. I had to order a new field assembly because I pulled too hard on the copper wire that I should have soldered and it broke off behind the coil, but $20 and a week later, I'm up and running again! Thank you so much for this detailed, perfectly done video. I am so happy, and a bit proud of myself for fixing it, but the praise ultimately belongs to you for showing me how. Thanks again!

@@jaylagare Thank you very much for video. Although I couldn’t unwind the wire due to it being locked in, I soldered another bit of wire onto the overall winding, which got everything working again..

Unwinding is a possibility. Out of 100 more or less windings, 1 winding less will not unbalance the electromagnetic field. Another solution is to extend the broken line with a similar diameter connection (requires soldering though)

Sorted, thank you! The wire leading to the broken end was caught around the bottom of the coil so I could not pull it through. I cut a fresh one out of the coil and fittrd that, doesn't seem to have any problems. All the best

Glad it worked out. When I wasn’t able to unwind, I was too scared to cut so I just soldered on an extension 😅

i suspect the wires break due to applying too much pressure when using the tool

Could be. But the shaft seems to be well-supported by the bearings and there’s an air gap between the rotor and the wires. My own suspicion is that it’s due to a loosely installed wire vibrating and eventually breaking from friction or fatigue.

How did the wire get cut?

I believe it’s due to the vibration gradually wearing the wire where it is clamped on.

I wonder why every deemed I have owned breaks? I am looking for a good professional alternative to this pos! I also wonder why it is only good for lefties when using a cutoff wheel? If you are right handed it throws sparks right at you! Never buying another deemed again, they just do not hold up!

Agree, the stator design seems fragile. Wire broke 2-3 times on me already. Thankfully, was able to fix it so far.
