I never watched this show, but I did learn some things about commanding respect and confidence from my Dad. He wasn't the biggest man around, but when he was around nobody had more attention and respect than him. His air of confidence made his 6 foot stature seem like he was 10 feet tall and bulletproof. He's gone now but far from forgotten. Dad will always be my hero and model for what a man should be.

1. I can vouch for this working. Several years ago I stood up to a guy who was not behaving in a way I appreciated. Despite him being taller than me and apparently in better shape,* he backed down when I stood my ground. (*In better shape than me, except for teeth. As part of my standing up to him I told him to grow some teeth. I guess I'm lucky he didn't smack me for that, but I was ready.) 2. Memento mori and thinking about dying in five years. That one hit home.

Mike Ehrmantraut and Saul Goodman are starkly different characters with very different mannerisms, yet they both are able to get what they want and recover from seemingly hopeless and difficult situations. For example, despite his age and seemingly frail appearance, Mike should have been punked by the gangsters he is surrounded with, but he has this calmness, confidence, and ruthless mannerisms that inspire fear into his adversaries and "coworkers" so to speak. Saul is a sleazy person who is very hard to trust when you look at all of the dishonest and sly things he's done in the past. Yet he still is able to use his charismatic and confident personality to get what he wants without much resistance. For example, he is able to project confidence and power, even when he has little or none (Tuco and the "skateboard scamming" brothers negotiation in the desert). Just some suggestions for some characters you guys could break down in future analysis!

1:01 Absofreakinglutely! People all across social media will go on and on about how important eye contact is. Yet when they are face to face with another person, they are rarely comfortable. I use all of these points in my life and number 1, eye contact, is how I garner control in social situations. The eyes truly are the window to the soul and people feel vulnerable if you look deep in their eyes. When I speak to people, even those that may be combative, and I maintain eye contact with them and speak in a deeper register, they 100% of the time back down

I am always like that, but I am never in danger or pressure. In Germany this slow speaking and starring is very common, most times it’s strange if someone doesn’t make eye contact when he talks to u, only shy people break it. If u grow up with that u can’t be different. I studied psychology I was never aware of the difference between the countries.

5:12 You missed the point in Season 3... Walt is playing a game and is manipulative. He makes other believe he is weak, but in reality he his playing his cards until he drop his hand on the table while being all-in. That moment is where Mike understood he got played... he tells everyone in Season 4 that the last thing he needs is for Walt to speak... because he always find a way to manipulate people the way he wants. Jesse is a good example. He understood at one point that he got played.... the whole time.... even if Walt truly care for him as much as a step son.

That's actually how I got so much more confident. I've gotten out of situations where I should have died three times now; the most recent situation I had years to come to terms with it, and multiple hospitals and specialists told me to just make myself comfortable. I was able to recover, and having already come to terms with my mortality, nothing else seems really risky anymore. What's the worst thing that could happen if I put myself out there--I could die? I'm supposed to be dead! 🤣

What legitimately worked for me in having confidence in high pressure situations was when I was younger, my friends and I would eat a bunch of LSD and go out causing just enough trouble to get the police called but not enough trouble to get arrested. Taught me there is nothing in can't handle.

One of the best pueces of advice I have is to be as selectively honest as possible. Be honest as much as possible. Especially with the bigger problems, because they only get bigger. I say selective because I never share more than I have to. This often leads to people sharing with you. But you need to tight lipped. People think you are smart if they know you have more information than you are revealing. This is especially true when you do ut in front of people that you know things about

The things that you describe in this video are consequences of not having a lot of fear and having confidence already. But imitating these traits doesnt erase fear nor emulate confidence. I would appreciate any tips and suggestions on how to reduce my fears, I am not an actor and imitating anyone never did help me.
