How to install a water softener: Aquasure Harmony Series Water Softener 48,000

Went to visit my brother in Yuma, Arizona and we removed an old Rayne Water Softener that’s seemed to have lost its ability to soften water. This thing was well over 15 years old and given the really hard water that Arizona has, it was time to upgrade.
He went with an Aquasure Harmony Series Whole House Water Softener | 48,000 GRAINS - AS-HS48D. aquasureusa.com/products/aqua...
We were VERY impressed with the build quality, the digital control head is super high tech and installation was relatively simple. In less than an hour, soft water was flowing through the pipes! Man, it was so nice.
We shot a video to show the basics of the installation, and you’ll see that the whole process is really easy.

Ease of installation- 10/10
The water quality was amazing afterward. Brother was really happy with it.
The installation was a lot easier than I expected. Neither my brother nor myself have any prior plumbing/water softener installation experience but we managed to get this thing installed. Not bad eh?

There should be a ground jumper from the left pipe to the right pipe. I see a ground clamp on the water line input near the floor, but it is defeated by the softener connections...the old softener has a metal connection/assembly which would have maintained ground continuity.

The softener's 1 inch "pipes" are plastic! The only dissimilar metals which cause serious galvanic corrosion are iron and copper. Copper on PLASTIC will not corrode. Also, connector has a gasket; plumber's Teflon will have no effect.

How much did you buy and how old is the old one?

The new Aquasure System was $549. The old one was there when my brother moved into the house and he's been there for 10 years. We assume the previous home owner installed it 10 years prior to that. aquasureusa.com/products/aquasure-harmony-series-whole-house-water-softening-system-48-000-grains

@@mingdianli7802 the system works great. It's completely trouble free. Just add salt once a month.

I had the same system installed , but I believe the water level is too high in the brine tank. What’s the water level in your brine tank, if you dine mind me asking?

We added 5 gallons of water after we installed it and 2 bags of salt.
