In this video, I swap over my 20 year old, crappy, deteriorated, used engine and transmission mounts for some upgraded polyurethane mounts that will not degrade like the rubber ones.
PRODUCTS USED IN THE VIDEO 🛠
P2M Polyurethane Bushings ▶︎ amzn.to/2sNXYae
Polyurethane Engine Mounts ▶︎ amzn.to/2rOm6bp
Ingersoll Rand Titanium Impact Wrench ▶︎ amzn.to/2t7ocqL
Sunex Hex Impact Socket Set ▶︎ amzn.to/2rOkTRt
Tekton Swivel Ratchet Set ▶︎ amzn.to/2t7rATc
Genius 1/2” Impact Shallow Socket with Tray ▶︎ amzn.to/2rOc8a2
Genius 1/2” Impact Deep Socket with Tray ▶︎ amzn.to/2s8cPub
Genius 1/2” Impact Extension with Tray ▶︎ amzn.to/2s8k6dx
Genius 3/8” Impact Socket (Deep & Shallow) with Tray ▶︎ amzn.to/2rObpWf
Impact Extractor Socket Set ▶︎ amzn.to/2u18E4K
Gearwrench Ratcheting Wrenches ▶︎ amzn.to/2t7kFbS
Tekton Hammers ▶︎ amzn.to/2rOvvzE
The polyurethane engine mounts are still not the stiffest option you can get. If you really want to feel the engine’s true vibrations and everything, you can get a set of solid engine mounts that are the exact same size as the upgraded poly ones, however they are made out of solid aluminum and have no flex at all.
These exact mounts that I used in this video will work for any Nissan 240SX that is an S13 or an S14, whether you are using them on a KA24DE, or an SR20DET. The mounting spots are the same so they can be used for either application.
If you have any questions, feel free to send me an email at milanmastracci@gmail.com. Thanks for watching!! :)

Dude this is awesome. Like every 240SX video is some guy mumbling with overbearing background noise, and recorded with a potato. You spoke clearly, little to no background noise, and video quality its great! Thank you for making a quality video on a 240!

2 years late but, the KA24DE engine in there is cam on bucket. Valve adjustment = re-shimming those buckets. What you're probably hearing is the timing chain guides.

Great vid Milan, what a difference with the new mounts, that was good. Loved the bit where your tongue gave out and you still kept it in, it makes the vids very unique and entertaining to watch lol, are you going to do a vid detailing what you intend to do with the Nissan? You asked is for suggestions and you said I would be mentioned in the next vid, but that was 5 vids or so back... just thought we could have an update please? Thanks. Keep up the good work and content, looking forward to the next vid mate 🤠 peace!

Thanks for a great video and taking the time to go through the process in a timely manner with good images and simple, clear explanations. Question about your experience after living with the urethane motor mounts for a while. If you you were going to do it again, would you choose to go back with an OEM motor mount to reduce internal vibration or is the additional vibration worth the convenience? I totally agree with the urethane tranny mounts but am curious specifically about the motor mount daily driving experience. I'm about to change mine and have been trying to decide... Thanks in advance for any info. :)

do you have to disconnect anything from transmission ? i feel like its gonna give some stress to it when u jack up the engine. Someone tell me the answer please. soon i ll be replacing those
@milanmastracci
@milanmastracci 4 жыл бұрын
Technically you are putting a bit of stress on it, but not to the point where you are going to damage anything. When you drive your car very conservatively, you are putting stress on those components too. if you raise it gently and don't crush any electrical harnesses, you should be fine.

You just need it raised enough so you have less stress on the mounts. After the mounts have the nuts removed from them, you still have to raise the car up to get the mount out so there's no worry there.

The vibrating is exactly the reason you don't want the polyurethane or solid engine mounts at all or ever... it gives you no performance benefits at all the vibrating and rough ride is so bad it will do your head in long before another set of rubber ones would wear out... same goes for sub-frame bushes rubber bushes and you can go urethane on the rear control arms... you will have comfort and noticabale performance benefit.

Why not solid engine (also rear subframe) mounts? I know they have same thoughts as welded diff (they reduce comfort and etc.), but they won't wear out for EVER. And dont miss, that they can hold ANY power. Also your mature and you have your own opinion and don't have to listen to 14year old. Yust a suggestion0
@milanmastracci

I contemplated it but I still want to have decent drivability with the car. I'm not looking to make this thing a full blown race car, but in the event that that changes, solid engine mounts will definitely work.
