How to Knit a Picot Cuff | Knitting Tutorial

This tutorial shows how to create a picot cuff for a cuff-down knit sock.
The yarn is the colorway Glorious Christmas, available as part of a sock set from www.granitestateyarns.com for Christmas 2021.
The full pattern is called "Intervale Socks," designed by Lauren R. Cairns (that's me!) and available at www.granitestateyarns.com in my shop. This particular pattern is written for DK weight yarn, and a fingering weight version will be available later in November 2021.

I have a baby bonnet and mitten set pattern from the 1970s that uses the picot edge. Makes for a nice clean edge and this method saves hand sewing the hem. 👍👏

What a great idea to put it on a baby bonnet! I've done rolled hems on them before, but a picot edge would be so lovely.

I was picking up both bottom stitches, then live stitch, and struggled to get a flat seam. Thank you for this clear tutorial, so I now know to pick up back stitch, then live stitch, for a less bulky seam; and to seam loosely 😀 it is such a pretty edge🌸

Wow, I'm going to watch this a few more times before I try it. Yours came out great. I'm trying o make a pattern from a book called Portuguese Knitting by Rosa Pomar. Apparently in Portuguese Knitting you purl instead of knit and then I guess you turn the sock inside out? So far I've gotten to the part where I need to purl the cuff together. Hopefully I can "translate" this to purl...or maybe do it on the knit side and then return to the purling. Thank you!
